impossible is just a word

Okay so Bungie's finished with Halo and can start a fresh new universe but what do you want or think they should do?

I would like buniges next franchise to be ethier an RPG or RTS
as i think if they have the knowledge and experience to make an engageing story which is a major part of a good RPG and if they make another FPS it will be to much like Halo.

An RTS is another logical choice as Bungies has made previous RTS games and if pulled of right will add to an already spectacular genre and games company.

Just My 2cents please comment on what you'd like bungies next step to be

Joe Staten let slip a little hint about Bungie's next project at a game developer's conference a while back.

To heavily paraphrase, he said "Isn't it a shame that we put all this effort into the Halo Universe but players can only spend a few hours immersed in it in each installment before it's over? What if there was a world that was always there for you? With an infinite storytelling horizon?"

Because of this, many people think the next game will be some sort of MMO, but naturally this is unconfirmed.

Also, This.

I think it would be cool to see an RTS, however, I doubt that bungie will stray away from the formula that has granted them so much success. I think we're gonna be looking at an FPS. Now it could be an FPS RPG mashup. As far as what I'd like to see and the title of their new site, I'd love an FPS game focusing on the space combat we saw in Reach. Like if Halo and Star Wars Battlefront had an illegitimate love-child. lol. Anyway, That's what I'd like to see: ship to ship combat, ground to orbit transitions, etc.

ideal choice would be a big free roaming FPS-RPG in a futuristic city.

hasn't really been done i don't think cause
a) GTA is present day
b) Fallout is all ruins, not a vibrant city
c) Mass Effect wasn't really free roaming
d) Crackdown was more of a platform game, not much to do

i think they planned something like this for Deus Ex 2, but didn't use it in the end. but it'd basically be like Deus Ex on a much larger scale, with vehicles/traffic

Bungie branched out to different genres before

having said that, they're a cash cow now, and you could say they've 'found their niché ' so it would be foolish to NOT make a Halo clone

If memory serves this video says anything but that.

I'd double check before linking it but I'm in class and I can't exactly double check what they said.

I agree. The only thing I think we're going to be able to link to Halo is the fluid gameplay and multiplayer experience... and possibly a futuristic setting, but I trust Bungie to make an original new IP.

Per Audacia Ad Astra!

Seriously i wish Bungie would create something new and totally different comparing to current games (FPS all the time, everytime), and RTS is a kind of game that i enjoy. Bungie made Myth in the 90's, i hope one of those day they'll create a new franchise like it, it would be fantastic!
I don't see RTS on console it's too difficult to adapt with all the mechanics/gameplay/functions... (i know there's HW but i don't believe it's a genre for console) it's more for PC.

About the new i.p "AKA" BungieAerospace the reality is different, their new games seems to be an... MMO, it smell MMO (look at Joe Staten comments) oooh i can't stand MMO. But we'll see.

seventh coloumn pride

there next step is "world dommination" i thought everyone knew that

mmmmmmmm...Pie!

This seems like a reeeeeaaally big longshot but...

Bungie partnered with Activision Blizzard + Infinity Ward fallout/West and Zampella being fired + CoD fanboys going to want MW3 = ...?

I highly doubt it, but with Bungie done with Halo (for the most part), I wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen.
