I breathe BR, not kidding homie.

wow i waS just thinking same thing earlier today lol, after seeing dead space 2 review,

but yeah, id say flood cause necromorphs just like alien zombies, flood feel a lot stronger and have more of like a purpose id say

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

The flood, they can infect live victims and could probably infect necromorphs by hijacking the spinal cord.

What both have:

They both are a muderous super infection that jacks your entire body.

Both are controlled by a Hivemind.

Both have various "races" of "foot-soldiers," such as the standard Necro vs the Combat Form.

What Flood have Necros don't:

The Gravemind is nealy limitless in intellect, bordering on omniscience, maybe even omnipotence. The Necro Hivemind never struck me as a truly sapient life-form.

The Flood DON'T need victims to reproduce and would reach trillions in a single swarm.

And (I don't know if the Necros can do this, but, eh) the Flood is also an airborne disease as well.

Flood can pilot Starships and operate weaponry.

The Flood defeated the Forerunners. Really that should be the deciding factor there when you consider the infnite might of the Forerunner military

The Flood Super Cell is instantly adaptable, allowing for a new breed of Flood to enter the fray should the Gravemind wish.

Flood>Necros

On a related note, ******'s mom has really nice boobs, and it doesn't take much booze or encouragement to get her to let the puppies out of the pen...if you know what I mean...

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I agree, solid reasoning. There is also the fact that there's no reason that the Infection forms couldn't infect Necromorphs. If anything the Flood would simply consumes the Necro's like anything else.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Tough stuff, they're both incredibly powerful. But the Flood is weaker, you have to dismember Slashers and all that, while a hit to the Flood and they fall apart. The Necromorphs come in MUCH bigger sizes. Flood might be able to infect them though, but the Necros might just infect them back. I'm sure that once a Necromorph Hive-Mind merges a Proto-Gravemind into itself somehow, they'll adapt and learn the secrets of the Flood.

Flood seem to have more intelligence, and they can operate equipment, but Necromorphs can shred the Flood to bits in a straight hand-to-hand fight.

But I was playing Dead Space for the first time the other day and I was thinking to myself "Wow, this is like one gigantic Flood level."

Halo legends shows flood forms the size of Forerunner Dreadnaught :)))

That's because pure forms can come in any size, they grow with biomass.

Your arguments are based on gameplay

...The Necromorphs seem to absorb only the physical semblance of their infectee. They would be INCAPABLE of absorbing the consciousness of a protogravemind. Flood has large forms, and the ability to pilot vehicles. They are smart, while Necromorphs are driven only by animal instinct to feed.

Flood>Necromorphs.

That is only for gameplay.

Every tried to melee flood in Halo 1?

In The Flood Master chief smashed a combat form only to have it jump at him again, despite broken bones. Its stated in the book that the marines would literally shoot the flood to pieces to put them down.

Edit: Imagine Dead Space where all Necromorphs die to one melee or Cortana in halo 3 where the flood don't...

  • 01.26.2011 4:44 PM PDT

The flood would absorb a necromorph and make it 10 times faster and deadlier.

Exaggeration is common. You understand what I mean though.

  • 01.29.2011 12:05 AM PDT

The Flood is also never going away considering they can rejenerate themselves out of flesh. The Flood is not Sentient meaning the Halos would not affect them. The flood will never go away until all of the infection is destroyed. Which is nearly impossible to do

  • 01.29.2011 12:20 AM PDT

But then again the Flood has the sheer Numbers

Pretty much, the Flood would reanimate them just like any other living thing. Although you might want to watch this, pretty epic.

Flood if only for the fact that they have more than one way to infect enemies. IIRC the necromorphs can only spread through the use of an infector.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Flood.

They do the samething the Necromorphs do and even more.

  • 01.29.2011 6:22 AM PDT

^^^

Necro's are not very strong, especially compared to flood. Isaac call wrestle a foot soldier and kill it. If Isaac tried that with the flood it would rid his head off.

Yeah, one of the combat forms used its wrist bones as knives. It hurt like hell, but still...
