Subject: Necromorphs vs The Flood

I take it you're here for a reason?
.
A memorial to my H3 guy by:Do The D3w

Most Necros have large gashes and wounds on them. All a Flood would have to do is release a clould of spores on the wounds to infect them.

Success is just going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm.

The Necromorphs. Simply because they can outlast. Their infection was from an alien artifact. The flood themselves were destroyed utterly by Master Chief. Therefore the Flood died, and technically the Necromorphs, their source, remains.

What? The Necromorphs win just because the Marker is there, and the Flood lose because Chief destroyed them?

Why don't you all read? he said Flood Tank Form vs A Necromorph Brute. not full blown armys.

I always viewed Necromorphs as what the flood would be if they could have more types/appearances.

Different style of combat forms, specialized forms, etc.

Though necromorphs vs the flood?

Flood infect living and dead.

Necromorphs infect the dead.

Result? They infect each other and create something WTF scary.

My stance.

Also, Brute vs tank form? Tank form. easily. Tank form spits out a couple infection forms. Infection form latches onto the necromorph brute. Bam, bigger, badder monster charging around the corner now.

Really this isn't a question of eneimes, this is a question of heros.
Master Chief is 8 Foot tall supersoldier. Well yea.
But on the other Hand, Issac Clarke is an Degree carrying engineer.
And the as we see in half life, the badass scientist always wins.

Clarke was also a merchant Marine. So he was a soldier.
I was never "technically" a soldier. I just worker in emergency repair around the shipping lines.
Quick Question: Hundreds of well trained soldiers died to them, yet you, a person who never killed something in your life, somehow survive not only an infected ship, but also an infected city. How can this be?
Necromorphs love the element of surprise. Once you know that they are there (or that they may be there),

quick question: at the and of your terrifying adventures in the sprawl were you expecting a necromophed Nicole to come out and scream in your face?

and you had trouble fighting the necros you wouldn't last 2 minutes against flood infection forms.

*lol moment.* Yep, flood simply kill you. They don't bother with grapples that take awhile to kill the target.

Necromorphs love the element of surprise. Once you know that they are there (or that they may be there), they lose this element of surprise. I think that if you survive your first encounter, Necros lose a lot of their ability to quickly kill you.

Also, I'm a BAMF.

And than theres the fact that all the weapons that Issac uses are all tools he was already skilled at using I.E. Plasma Cutter, Line gun. This most likely discludes the Contact beam, pulse rife etc.

'There are many aspects of the universe that still cannot be explained satisfactorily by science; but ignorance only implies ignorance that may someday be conquered. To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today.'
-Isaac Asimov

If it was flood during the Feral stage versus necromorphs I believe it could be close. The flood gain knowledge etc through their victims. Necromorphs are the byproduct of recombinant DNA and necrotic flesh. There is an airborn contaminant that happens with an outbreak of Necromorphs. In reality they are pretty much the same except Necromorphs are completely disfigured, mutated, made up of 30% unknown organic substance, and even when completely dismembered are not technically dead. While flood simply have organs mutated and are disfigured but can be killed. Now if the flood were in a Coordinated stage then they would win. But since there is more on the Flood than on the necromorphs, we could find out something that could make it vice versa. The Flood are a more dangerous foe when Coordinated, but if it was just Feral I would side with the necromorphs. Remember the flood can be killed by simply killing the infection form, Necromorphs you are going to have a problem there(Especially with the Ubermorph or Green Eyes). But the second the Flood get to Coordinated the Necros are -blam!-.

I don't know if the Flood can take control of a Necromorph, I mean I'm pretty sure they don't even have a nervous system and if they did it would be more -blam!- up than Johnsons.

Well that infected city you see happened AFTER he barely survived the ship so he was already used to fighting them. He also barely survived the Sprawl so it's not like it was a walk in the park. Keyword in all of this, Barely, he barely survived this all. How can this be? How the -blam!- did Gordan Freeman survive? Because scientist and engineers are BAD-Asses.

I highly doubt a person infected by a Necromorph magically loses his nervous system/spine.

I mean, they might not acknowledge/use the nervous system, but it is still there. Hence by flood can infect corpses.

What both have:

They both are a muderous super infection that jacks your entire body.

Both are controlled by a Hivemind.

Both have various "races" of "foot-soldiers," such as the standard Necro vs the Combat Form.

What Flood have Necros don't:

The Gravemind is nealy limitless in intellect, bordering on omniscience, maybe even omnipotence. The Necro Hivemind never struck me as a truly sapient life-form.

The Flood DON'T need victims to reproduce and would reach trillions in a single swarm.

And (I don't know if the Necros can do this, but, eh) the Flood is also an airborne disease as well.

Flood can pilot Starships and operate weaponry.

The Flood defeated the Forerunners. Really that should be the deciding factor there when you consider the infnite might of the Forerunner military

The Flood Super Cell is instantly adaptable, allowing for a new breed of Flood to enter the fray should the Gravemind wish.

Flood>Necros
This guy, this is the guy.

I agree, solid reasoning. There is also the fact that there's no reason that the Infection forms couldn't infect Necromorphs. If anything the Flood would simply consumes the Necro's like anything else.
which is why flood is such an insane enemy, its like fighting... well... a flood.
