Well, I'm not sure on this(perhaps a mod could verify it?), but I hear that if someone makes a link to pr0n in a group, and it is reported, they can get permabanned. Is this true?

If mods cant do anything about groups, why is twitch bant?
Because he spammed and was accused of hacking another user's account. Even though the hacking part is complete BS, he spammed MORE than enough to get permabanned LONG before he did. And now he's in some boarding school, so he's almost never here.

And to think I thought the Twitch-talk was over. . .

I'm certifiable.

Any violation of the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct anywhere on bungie.net is grounds for disciplinary action.

Outside of the main forums, however, it's the responsibility of the site administration to handle that though us Ninjas can forward any complaints or messages on to the appropriate places.

-- Steve's glad that those kinds of problems don't arise too often... most Group Administrators seem to be pretty good at keeping the bad stuff out.

I can't exactly remember what happened with Twitch, but I think it was something with drugs maybe? First of all, if you don't comply with the Code of Conduct and Terms of Use, you're gone. If he was talking about illeagal activities and stuff, there would be some type of punishment (I don't know what though). Secondly, he spammed a lot. Enough to deserve him a permaban even if I'm being an idiot and accusing him of stuff he didn't do.

He still posts in groups occasionally.

Twitch needed to be banned since day one, all the more reason why I wish once you got banned from Bungie.net, you were cut off from everything, flat out. He’s lucky he was allowed to stick around as long as he did.

Don't tell anyone what it means though - I like it and would very much like to keep using it ;-)

Ummm, I don't think that word is exclusively used in the UK, guys.

Definately not. And if anybody so much as HINTS that Ireland is part of the UK there will be consequences!!!

I'm still confused about the Ireland vs England thing. Anyway I think Achronos is admitting defeat. He can't handle the uber haxxor's skills.

Ireland (Eire) is not a part of the United Kingdom. They seem to get pretty worked up about that. (Though frankly we don't want any dirty Irish anyway....pffft) jk

I wouldn't say that if I was you.....

I think this has turned into a political debate?

No and no. I always took this haxing and group wars just to be bored kids with too much time on their hands. You know a group has gone downhill when the top post is "OMG SERIOUS THREAT" or bs like that.

Methinks this needs a lock before someone else says the words "Republic" and "Kingdom" in the same sentence.

We all know what happens in those discussiosn.

Um, I think this has gotten just a little off topic. Come on guys. Take it somewhere else.

And, I think Anton was answering my question, but I'm not positive. So, was he?

OK back on subject. Who thinks bnet is hackable? I think it is pretty secure. I think halo2sucks has been brought down before, but I've never seen bnet go down. Looking at Zanzibar I think there are a lot of people who would like to bring it down.

Strictly speaking, any site is hackable (unless it is powered off).

It's mostly a matter of how attractive is the target, what are the potential gains from success (sometimes it is simply to gain access to another connected system). Then it is a matter trying to keep the potential vulnerabilities out of reach of the likely attackers.

I'd be confident that Bungie.Net is isolated from the game studios internal file servers (a really fat and juicy target) and that most of the information on this site is what nearly anyone can see by browsing it. So other than a tagger or someone who was looking for bragging rights, there are much more attractive targets on the Net.

I would imagine that there are still plenty of attempts and incidents however.

I'm sure you could ask valve software all about that!! Lol.Bunch of smegheads!

BTW off topic again to british words no one mentioned the cockney rhyming slang 'berk'.

Well, I believe Achronos once said that the Column cannot be hacked. Well, this may be true by any means known to him, but the type of losers that hack stuff always seem to find a way to do it. I also once heard about a guy who hacked bnet and the forums were down for like a week due to this. I have no idea if this is true or not though.

Lies. Most likely someone trying to claim that they hacked the website during some unrelated downtime.

As I recall, someone tried to claim they hacked the website when the leaderboards were removed as well.

And, when a hiccup in the Xbox Live servers caused a temporary loss of stats, people started claiming that someone hacked Bungie.net, as though doing so would have any effect on Live.

The point I'm making here is that the vast majority of people that claim to be hacking something or other are complete liars. This includes the tools that claim to hack a 7th column group. What they are doing is brownnosing gullible group leaders into getting administrative access, and then either taking the group over, or stopping only to give similar priveledges to a second account and using that account to take over.

You said it Shishka! But don't get too comfortable, it is a PROOVEN fact that anything can be hacked, so you should still be watchful.
