Just do it, Bungie/Microsoft. Halo 2 fans such as me would rejoice if they could even play again for a day.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

No one reads these forums, and the servers are gone for good.

Once again, this is not something Bungie has control over. If it was, Halo 2 would still be online.

Reactivating Xbox LIVE for Xbox original titles would cost way too much money for Microsoft. They already took it down, and used the resources for other things. Doing this would not help Microsoft and therefore, will not happen.

Halo 2 for Life!

Not assigning some blame to bungie is incorrect, what I think you are arguing is that most people place to much blame on bungie (because it was their game) and not on microsoft?

We all know Bungie could have done things differently somewhere alone the line to prevent this (but they didn't) but how much they knew about their previous actions implications on the future at the time they made them is up for debate (they will never tell us most likely lol). Saying bungie shares no blame with Microsoft is a misconception in my mind.

They could have made it for the PC (not a port) or PS2, and then even though it wouldn't be GODLIKE or REVOLUTIONARY, it would still be up.

There's no such thing as 'way too much money for Microsoft.' They've got billions stashed in their pocket. Plus, they should realize that it IS Halo, and that this game was very popular. Reactivating it for one day costs almost no money (business-wise, an individual could not afford the amount, however)

Besides recently Microsoft posted record sales profits of $20 billion during the holidays last year. They have enough money to reactivate a few servers and give us back live support for our old games, or at least allow us to redownload our old dlcs that we paid for.

I'm talking opportunity cost here. It would cost them a substantial amount to start it up again, and chances are that it wouldn't make them more than $1000.

Just because a business is rich, doesn't mean they are willing to throw away money like that.

What they need to do is re-release it, with enhanched graphics, online play, online coop and achievments. Either on xbla or shipped on a disk.
That people would happely pay for. Even more if they did the same with CE, and included it in a complete package.

It would sell well.
