i agree... for instance, the ability to hold two SMGs at one time... it might become too much like Golden Eye or Timesplitters, which gave awkward(spelling) gun fights on my opinion.

I'm not worried about the balancing at all, this is Bungie making the game after all. As far as these new features being added, based off what I've read in the updates and in the magazines (like the new OXM), it's going to make it a whole lot better. Something you mentioned above actually is something that upset me about the original Halo. I'm in a scorpion tank and someone runs up to me with a pistol or sits far away where I can't see them with a pistol, fires and a few shots and I'm dead. That to me was very unrelistic. Tanks are supposed to provide protection, especially from a stupid pistol bullet. That's something I liked about the new OXM article, is it talks about how they're reworking that aspect so that lower grade weapons may not do damage or hurt you in a tank, but a rocket blast will sure do something to it. They're making it more realistic, also making you have to think more about what you attack your apponent with. This may drop the balancing (any idiot can kill you without having to think), to making it more realistic (better thinking opponents will be rewarded more than gun happy idiots). I'm sure the new Live components in Halo 2 will allow for a GHI only club though. Also I'm sure with the new MP maps being much bigger smart players/teams that set up in good positions will be able to handle the faster vehicles. I think that's actually why they're putting that feature in is to balance the game, otherwise it might be to easy to defend the bases from someone getting away.

Yeah, I'd like to toss in my two cents regarding balance.

First off, Halo: CE isn't exactly balanced. The pistol rules, with the shotgun, sniper, and rocket all getting honorable mentions. All the other guns have their places, but they're either eclipsed (by shottie, sniper, or rocket) in the places they're useful, or just pwned by Mr.DoItAll (Pistol).

I'd like each gun to have its niche, but that be all. Meaning my Battle Rifle would be a good solid gun for taking on infantry from a medium-long range, but wouldn't be so hot in close, and darn near useless against a tank. And I hope rockets become a bit harder to use against infantry, since using them against vehicles will now be more important.

All the stuff they're adding is being extensively tested and implemented by competent individuals. It'll make the gameplay better; that much you can be sure of.

Balance is always important. It is a concern for me, since exploits turn ugly real quick online. But in the update[s] they have been "tweaking" the weapons a lot . So I am sue Bungie will bring a game that is very well balanced.

And if there any balance exploits Bungie can still fix them with downloadible patches. :)

The maps will be huge so it will take you a while to get across and I doubt a boost would get you across the map and since people love sniping including myself we can always take care of the person. And remember this is Bungie the same Bungie, well except a couple people, that created Halo. They know what they are doing and this will not turn into something like an Unreal game, it will be balanced. It sucks we have to wait so long though.

Yeah, Unreal is just too unbalanced, frantic and unpolished IMO, Halo feels just right! :)
