The Playstars

i havnt read the book yet but what i have got together from people on forum

apparantly we should not trust captive and that he could not be a Precursor as he could not live from that long and that he would say anything to get out also people are saying he turns into gravemind on delta halo

he must be old because he knows about the Precursors

if he is one

why was it locked up?

was it a bad Precursor that they locked up?

was it a specimen left by the Precursor just incase of the flood escaping?

p.s did anyone notice on halo 2 that a gravemind was already there?

And So Forerunner And Flood Became One.

You should read the book just to better understand where everyone on here is coming from.

Yeah, we still believe in all the things that we stood by before.
I know, to everything we've seen here, maybe even more.
I know we're not the only ones and we were not the first.
And unapologetically we stand behind each word.

he must be old because he knows about the Precursors

Hes over a million years old.
if he is one
He says, and I quote, "I am the last of the precursors" or something along that line.
why was it locked up?
We don't know. He might have not been "locked up" but quarantined.
was it a bad Precursor that they locked up?
Refer to answer above.
was it a specimen left by the Precursor just incase of the flood escaping?
Thats probable.

It is more likely that he is not a Precursor.

and...where did you get that conclusion? All we have is the Captive's word, nothing else.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

March 3, 2553

Its definatley an undefined question. I doubt he is, they would look, i imagine much like forerunners and humans as they shaped us in thier image. We dont look like hidious deformed freaks, i dont know about you but i sure dont.

It is stuck inside Precursor tech. So, either he was put away for doing something awful or it is the Gravemind (chances are this) and was locked up because it was destroying the galaxy. The words of the captive should be taken with a grain of salt, though.

The Playstars

i think overtime he evolved into that

as i see it he is either:

a threat to the Precursors(maybe one of them)

or

he is a sample gene left by the Precursors for anti flood cure

either way he is bad news

also i think he turns into the gravemind on delta halo

anyone think why is a gravemind on a halo ring without contamination?

The captive could easily live a million years in cryo. The Forerunners had the technology to do it and so do the humans in 2552 in order to make a long slipspace voyages.

but the fact he states that the precursors made the forerunners (which the forerunners always thought) and the flood being "the answer at hand" don't go for that. along with the fact the flood is looking for a new master, which is the captive.

so im some deeply confusing way the precursors made the flood yet are the flood? unless a precurosor is a scaled down gravemind by nature.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The Captive is the last Precursor.
