Flood infects Truth And Reconciliation crew en route to Earth. Earth falls. The Covenant find an infected Earth. Flood infect Covenant invasion forces, and go to High Charity. High Charity falls. Flood travel throughout galaxy and proceed to systematically wipe out the individual races left. The end.

I don't think so, they controlled 80% of the ship, and they just killed a avalanche of flood, sure one of them would have made it all the way to earth but if it infected civilians, there would have been a quarantine, wouldn't have taken over all of earth.

Because 100% containment and at least an understanding of the flood worked out so well for the Mona Lisa...I'm sure a group of marines with no real understanding of the Flood or Covenant ship design can fair better.

Agreed, they were in the vent system when they attacked the engine room.

They thought they had them contained. Jenkins showed the one Lt. how wrong they were when the flood swarmed from the vent. The Forerunners literally destroyed planets when flood showed up, I don't see a simple quarantine working especially when the flood can use airborne spores to infect people.

Lets assume the flood were killed. So now we have timeline where the MC does not pick up his comrades on Reach. This would allow the Covenant to have access to the slipstream crystal on Reach. Also the Covenant fleet en route to Reach wouldn't have been destroyed.

Humankind would have gained one Covenant ship with a minor prophet, vs a full covenant fleet.

Hmmmmm

Covenant fleet en route to Earth you mean. Anyway yeah that would mean Earth would have fallen, even with the 300 some super-macs surrounding the entire planet. The fleet around the station they destroyed was MASSIVE.

Aside from the Flood on the ship

You underestimate the flood entirely, a few spores breathed in through the ventilation ducts or even one or two humans gone awry on their own, mission squiffed and a taxi full of flood on way to earth... there is no studying flood, .... ever...
I dont think spores can infect people, they just spread biomass and grow growth pods. I dont listen to halo wars, its just too inconsistent. If the spores could cause infection then why have infection forms? using spores would be far more efficient

Because, they produce same results but at a much difference pace. Infection forms can enter an area and infect the populace, spores can infect anybody who flees.

Result? Most people infected instantly, the ones who get out have a chance that they turn in the middle of another population center.

CoD is a good game, even if the Halo series are better in some aspects. Anyone who insults either is just bad in that game. Grow up.

I'm fairly sure the guy you quoted is being sarcastic. The flood is not to be underestimated. Hell, if it was so easy then the Forerunners wouldn't have lost.

Then master chief wouldn't have had a banshee to get off the ring and the flood would of escaped with captain keys which in return master chief could't hav blown up halo with the PoA and the flood would hav gone 2 earth
Pelican*

The ODSTs would have been in violation of the Cole Protocol by taking the ship directly to earth, and we'd have ended up in a similar situation to Admiral Cole firing a ship-to-ship missile at point blank into an enemy ship as it prepared to accept their 'surrender'.
The Flood could have been sterilised during the journey, but it would have been a huge risk.
The war would have been fully won, had they been successful.

Remember the fact that the ODST leader refused to harm the minor prophet, and refused to completely destroy all the flood on the ship(besides Jenkins.) He was taking them back as 'trophies' for ONI and UNSC command to study. That mindset is why so many outbreaks happen.

"Hey guys, let's take these extremely dangerous creatures back home."

'Great idea!'

"Oh -blam!-, we got an outbreak, how the hell did this happen?"

I was. The point I was making was that the Marines under Silva had absolutely no idea what they were dealing with. Wesley did not have as much experience dealing with the Flood or knowing basic things like Cortana did, but at least he recognized that they were not in any way ready to leave the ring properly. They didn't even control the entirety of the Truth and Reconciliation. All in all they were guaranteed to be screwed over.

The Mona Lisa. You had ONI spooks conducting experiments with the Flood. They were fully aware of what they are and their basic functions based off the Chief's intel. The ship was specifically equipped to contain the flood so they could be experimented on the prisoners and observed. That failed horribly.

Thus based on that it's apparent the survivors of the Autumn on the TaR had no chance of containing the Flood either. Not even close. They'll all eventually be infected en route to Earth and deliver it to the Flood on a silver platter.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

The orbiting Covenant ships would have probably shot it down.

If not, the world is done.
