I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

I'm not particularly a fan of novel serials, and will be waiting until all three parts of the trilogy are released before I pick up any of them.

I think that since Greg was trying to do something different when he wrote the first halo book that has a protagonist who never touches a weapon of any kind or get into any sort of fight, that it would be contradictory to have normal ground engagements even though it's obvious that forerunners barely ever do that, what with their particle deconstruction rays that can dismantle an entire ship win seconds and immensely powerful giant armor suits that can fly and stasis feilds and pain projectors and all. Frankly, the traditional battle sequences of halo novels always feel shoehorned in and unfitting. This book focused more on the interesting side of halo's story: the galactic drama, not the trench warfare.

Just know that it has a writing style far different from the other Halo books. Don't worry about readability though, it's certainly not a problem.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I'm on Chapter 19. Things are moving pretty slow and it's kinda boring, so far. :/

I certainly have to read it then, I thought Fall Of Reach was the best novel. (Lets hope my mind is changed after reading Cryptum)

Brilliant, it reveals alot about the backstory to the forerunners, flood humans ect. Well worth the read and if you think you know a fair bit about halo you don't.

I really like the older novels. The epicness of the space battles is something I really wish the games would pick up.

However Cryptum has a new style that is at once refreshing and gripping. The wealth of knowledge in this book blew my mind and I love the way he portrays Forunner culture.
