Subject: If humans joined the covies

what time would it have been best?
What rank would they hold?
Would they keep there weapons?
who would there bitter rivalry be (as all covies seem to have one. Grunts and jackals, Drones and Engineers, Brutes and Elites.)
How would they be invited in.

Question I have
where did this line come from
"even the smallest humans hurl themselves against our defenses with honor. If only the Unggoy were as committed." This shows that humans have earned grudging respect of the Sangheili. They claimed variously that Humans are "tenacious", that their technology is "limited, but...useful", that their battle techniques are "impressive", and that they are "excellent strategists".

um on a side note Some one told me the true reason the humans wernt let into the covinant was because they could use forerunner tech raw and the covies couldn't so the prophets said they sould be killed (when I say raw I mean with out study or any thing or having to copy the design) So lets say the prophets got smart and relised we could be used as a key. Then let us in to do such.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The Covenant wouldn't allow them to become an alliance. They are "heretics" and whatnot.

I'd assume they'd probably be in a Brute like role, IE squads of mostly humans, relatively high rank within the Covenant castes, probably a few Ship Masters, and maybe eventually earn a seat on the Council (very big maybe).
I don't think they would keep their own weapons, at least not as they were, you can be pretty damn sure that the Covenant would be gaining new and better weaponry though through Human inventions.

I don't know if they would have one, I can't think of what species the Human "personality" would but heads with most, maybe the Prophets?

I do not know the origin of that quote, Cole Protocol maybe? That one and the comic and short story collections are the only written media I haven't read yet, and I haven't seen that quote come up in what I have read, so...

As Sniper pointed out though, it never would have happened, due to the whole "Heretic" thing.

I don't think they would join the Covenant. The other species only joined because the Covenant were by far technologically superior. Even though the Covenant are better technologically than humanity, humanity still has a fighting chance. Humanity would not chain itself to a strange alien belief system without gaining something significant in return, and the Covenant has little to offer.

Hating everything comes at a price....
Everything hates you back.

best time: in the garden on harvest when they were meeting but the militia guy accidentally shot a grunt so the brutes went skitz.

ranks: spartans would be just a small step down from elites but just normal marines would probs be grunt/jackal as we're accurate but not as good as a jackal.

weapons: they might keep a couple like the brutes did (brute shot) but they would be given covie stuff mainly.

rivalries: spartans against elites/brutes, marines against the jackals/grunts.

If humanity had been exposed to Forerunner artifacts like the other species, we might have created a belief system based on the Forerunners being gods or benevolent creators. Then we would be much more likely to join the Covenant. But we developed on our own and we are much more independent than any of the Covenant species.

The humans were never let in because the prophets realised they had some sort of connection to the forerunners. If the whole of the covenant knew about this their whole system would collapse so they had to be exterminated. And ye i think they would've be able to keep their weapons, i mean the brutes got to, why not humans?

I think that they would be doployed in medium infantry and marksman roles. Whereas jackasl are good medium infantry for defense, humans would be better at attacking

They would likely be in a Rivalry with the Prophets, due to many reasons such as overall power, weapon manufacturing, battle tactics, etc.

The best time would may have been after the Battle of Reach, as it is known that the Elites welcome defeated enemies into their arm so long as they fought with Honor ( The Fall of Reach has been known to many members of the Covenant a show of Humanities best combat prowess ), as well as the Covenant losing over 200 ships.

They would likely get along very well with the Elites and and Hunters due to beneficial gains and similar thoughts. I could defiantly see Humans as being Ship Masters and Field Marshals.

They would also likely upgrade their weapons, such as Shield protection on their ships ( Imagine Frigates with shields... ) , plasma weapons, slip space drives, etc.

The Civil war would of still likely occurred, however the Humans/ Separatists would be far more powerful and be able to defeat the Loyalists very quickly.

Also, Spartans would likely become human versions of Arbiters, without the "Dishonor" part.

Overall, it would be very beneficial for Humanity.

I'm not sure what you're looking for.

"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" -- Proverbs 12:18

Marine would have energy shielding, superior tech, and no Spartans would die from the start.

I'm pretty sure that's not what happend. A second dropship snuck behind them and dropped off troops, essentially betraying the meeting/commitment to the meeting. But one of the Marines saw them and managed to engage them before being killed and alerting the others to their presence.

Feel free to let me know if I'm wrong though.
EDIT:Not Marine, Militia.

Pretty much this.

I'm totally sure that Humanity would probably butt heads with the Prophets a lot, especially since we Humans don't do well as willing subjects of conquerors, the Covenant Civil War probably would have happened sooner if Humans joined the Covenant.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Humans and Elites would get on with each other the best, especially since most of the Elites thought somewhat highly of the Humans anyway.

Everything would be completely different if Humans were in the Covenant, I can't even picture it really, the Civil War, as I said, would probably have happened earlier, heck, it probably would have devolved into Humans vs. Covies again :P

Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of Murphy's Laws on the StarShip Enterprise

True. In most films we have, its us which we're focussed on winning. One good exception to this is Avatar. But there aren't many others, maybe the alien series. Either way, the reality is that if something like the covenant comes and fights us, we're going to join unless something like what happened to the Prophet of Truth happens to the leadership.

Unless we find a dialogue first, and become more accepted. Remember the Cole Protocol? If a species turns out like the jackals, then we're extremely likely to trade with them. A lot. Even if we're bigoted.

If Humans joined the Covenant then we'd all be dead because no one would have been around to stop them from activating Installation 04 when they found it.

Just saying.

1) It wasn't a random jump.
2) They'd have discovered the Portal Artefact on Earth using Luminaries and they'd eventually discover a Halo Ring. In fact, if the humans were working with the Covenant then they'd have found Installation 04 ages before they did in the games.

The Covenant was already at the ring. The information used to make that "random" jump the Covenant already had from Sigma Octanus. With the humans working with the Covenant, they would have had all that they needed to use Halo, and the humans would have been eager to please the Covenant to show that they would be useful to them so they would willingly have activated it.

If only the damned prophets didn't feed the whole covenants lies, the war would've never happened, and we'd be drinking tee with Elites.

I Guess it wasn't meant to be...

  • 01.30.2011 1:23 PM PDT

actually the whole war started because a grunt went berserk and killed one of johnsons friends.
so is the war 100% of the prophits fault
