"Shall we let the Flood consume our holy city? Turn High Charity into another of their wretched hives? No enemy has ever withstood our might. The Flood, too, shall fail."

-Prophet of Truth.

WARNING, MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The tower things on the front cover of the book where those two figures are looking at, Precursor or Forerunner?

I personally thing Precursor because there was a similiar description of very long towers on Charum Hakkor where humans had built cities on them.

There appears to be some sort of garden or something built onto the tower. The architecture is different. And all the way at ground level it, there is what looks like a highway of some sort. Look at the hole right above the author's last name, Bear.

"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

The Precursors ruins o Charum Hakkor are destroyed by the Halo ring.

I'm sure it's a Forerunner world not mentioned yet in the book

That was after the ring was fired though. The cover could have taken place at any given time. Maybe right after the battle of Charum Hakkor two Forerunners decided to look over the structures?

They can't be Precursor. Precursor structures and technology are said to look like crystal.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

I thought they were Bornstellar's home. It is mentioned as being absolutely massive, as well as having towers. The architecture seems forerunner so I doubt that is is precursor.

The figures could easily be Born Stellar with either his father, who stood four meters tall or the Didact, one of the Prometheans, a massive Warrior-Servant.

If Precursor technology is Crystal in looks, do you think the Crystal Halsey found was intended to be a Precursor artifact? I hope not, I would ruin Canon.

How would it ruin canon? The Crystal was never said to be of Forerunner origin in the first place, and it makes much more sense for it to be a Precursor artefact because the Forerunners didn't have the ability to bend time.

It's in First Strike, buried under CASTLE Base on Reach.

When the Crystal enters Slipspace, it begins emitting radiation that causes the ship to move hundreds of times faster than it would during normal Slipspace travel.

The Crystal produced an awful amount of radiation though, enough to kill a ship's crew in about 72 hours. It can morph its appearance too when encountering certain pieces of technology.

When the Ascendant-Gettysburg was in slipspace at the end of the jump it was somewhere near the Eridanus System, a distance that, from Reach, should have taken several days to traverse instead of a few minutes. By comparing timestamps from several missions Dr. Halsey discovered a three-week average time difference - she surmised that the Crystal bent both space and time to cause this anomaly.

Locklear blew it up, but Tartarus managed to recover a tiny fragment and gave it to Truth who said it would be "enough to serve its purpose".

i wonder how he used it

thanks guys

and going back to the question

i think it could well be Precursor ruins

but how did the Precursor towers get destroyed when the halo ring fired

because on halo legends it showed how it killed the flood and it destroyed the flood not the spaceships

anyone else agree?

"Your final doom is upon you... mortals!"
"Yeah yeah. That's what your Psi Brigade said too."

"No... No, he's not a demon lord."
"How do you know?"
"He doesn't dress cool enough."

I hope for juicy books or games in the future... I love stories like this.

That's weird because in Halo they say the rings kill all life other than the flood, so that they can't consume them. Maybe the ruins were too close?

Or the makers of the episode made a mistake.

The Playstars

oh i was reading halopedia and found this

SPOILERS!!!!

the Halo Array, being neurological weapons, are the only way to destroy or otherwise damage Precursor artifacts. This could also explain the lack of any Precursor ruins in modern society (circa 2552 CE) as they would have all been destroyed when the Halo Array fired and sterilized the galaxy at the end of the Forerunner-Flood War.

so thats why. The halo array technology came from precursor tech and precursor tech is the only way to destroy precursor buildings.

Seriously Oak, Ive been doing this -blam!- for 16 years, gimmie my Friggen starter Pokemon and dont call me till im the champion! ¬_¬

Intresting thought on the mention of the halos destroying precusor artifacts

If the halo's are only suppose to damage the biological neural networks, and destroyed all "Indestructable" precursor artifacts... does that mean precursor technology is biological? o.O

You've mixed up biological with neurological.

Indeed. Precursor technology is based entirely on the concept the conscious mind and the universe itself are linked. Like the soul going to heaven when the body dies, the conscious mind never leaves the universe and forever exists.

Precursor technology is "alive", but not in anyway we can conceive of, the same way the universe is alive but inconceivable to us. It is pure soul, the universe (or multiverse, really) and Precursors are one in the same.

The Halos destroy the very foundation of consciousness it would seem. Hence, why it is the only weapon that can destroy Precursor tech, and why the Didact was so frigging afraid of it. Nothing with a conscious mind can survive Halo.

Funfact: that little excerpt from Halopedia? I helped write that :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Oooooh, so the domain could be a precursor device? or even used by the precursors?

And maybe even a secret orginised sociaty of AI minds that are quoted in the datapads on reach? (Wont rant, thats not what this thread is about)

I think the towers look too much like epitaph from halo 3, so id have to say forerunner, though i besides bornstellers homeworld i cant seem to see relevence

i did spend some of that read wondering who the figures were :P
