i dont really like the idea of stealth in halo 2. maybe its just me but i like charging into the next room, not knowing whats there, and just using brute force to beat the game

stealth in halo 2???

You’re kidding, right? Heh heh, I hate stealth. If you want stealth, get another game. So yes, I agree with you.

I like there to be both elements, where certain areas require different strategies, and then there's the times when you go stealth and then you're discovered by a huge force of covenant.

As I understand it, the way you play Halo 2 is entirely up to you. You can run in and hope you survive, or, you can play it safe, peaking around corners, and ducking across hallways when the coast is clear, moving from shadow to shadow and avoiding combat as much as possible.

It's all up to the player, really.

I agree that's a good point, but i still think it would be cool if they forced you to use different strategies to give you maybe some challenges and make it more interesting than just the same type of combat over and over.

I liked Halo's mix of action and stealth, on legendary, but wouldn't mind being able to shoot out lights and sneaking past elites while they search for you with flashlights.

The first Halo had a open-ended-ness to it that allowed for there to be both stealth and well the fun kind ... I believe in Halo all there doing is making it possible to be stealthly in more places .. So if your a stealth fan you'll be happy and if your not well you'll be happy too! Not to mention you might want to go through another time trying it stealthy ..

Dont worry Halo 2 is in good hands :D

------YOU CAN'T TAKE A GIRL TO THE LIBRARY!------

i could see sneaking onto a covenant ship to get to their homeworld. if you got there alone then you couldn't go around shooting everything.

I see no problem with some stealth. Most people don't even realize how much stealth was in the first halo because the game never forced you to play that way. But, there were quite a few rooms where if you were smart, quiet, and careful, you could wipe everyone out with stealth. There's nothing like stalking elites and dropping them in their tracks. If Halo 2 allows the freedom for me to play with a mitxture of stealth, straight up action, and methodical strategy (much like the first), then I'll be quite happy.

assualt on the control room was a good level for stealth. there were a few rooms that you could get through without firing a single shot

They should balance it the way as they did in Halo 1. You can be stealthy at times if you want to, but you are never forced to do so by the game. I really think it'd be ashame if they put in a "stealth"-level, it's just not that kind of game.

Halo 2 is all out war.

Putting in a "stealth" level would be very bad. Even games where your supposed to be slower and more tactical can be ruined by such levels. Take for instance R6:3. There's one mission towards the end, where your not allowed to shoot anyone. It totally breaks up the pace, and even angers you. And I think it would have an even greater impact on a game like Halo that focuses more on action. I say booo stealth, and rock on run-and-gun.

We don't need another stealth shooter like Pandora Tomorrow.... let's just fire off 100 rounds and kill everything that is around us with brute force.... good idea.

None-the-less, I agree with you.

i like the idea of shooting people from the dark where they can't see you. I love hearing a grunt scream, "THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!"

If you want a boring stealth game buy splinter cell. Leave halo the way it is.

One of the biggest reasons why Halo is so fun is because they don't ever force you to use a certain tactic. There is always at least one other option. Always.

There will be absolutely no forced stealth in this game. You can stick to the dark so Covies can't see you, much like you're using Stealth camo, but obviously there's not going to be an emphasis on stealth. It's just a nice little extra strategy you can use.

Splinter Cell is not boring. The parts where you can't shoot suck, but when they give you full freedom to do whatever you want, it gets better.

I wouldn't really say SC is boring, just... unimaginative and repetitive.

I agree stealth is a must in most situations but if you think about it, it funner to run into a room blasting. So I guess what I'm trying to say is it depends on what you like to do more. Me I like to be sneaky/snipe.

I highly doubt that. "minimal disturbance" is a quote that will come no where near Halo 2's presence.

a little stealth would be great. peeking around corners or shooting out a light or two. its not gonna be like splinter cell (which is good in its own right) so a little couldnt hurt at all. i know i had to use lots of "stealth" on halo 1. by stealth i mean walking into a room and then running away in fear. but thats "hiding" now isnt it. stealth
