FIRST: If you've seen the brief trailers on TV about the new movie "Troy," then you'll agree with me that the Shields some of the warriors carry are almost EXACTLY the same as the Jackal's. Only...not glowing....They're still all circular and have little notches in them!!
2nd: I've read all three Halo novels at least twice, and always take note of the Hunters' brotherhood bonds in combat. I was playing Assault on the Control Room today, and noticed a very poor example of this: After you get the Scorpion and advance to the next area, you're supposed to head down the slope underground, right? Well, i was in the Warthog, with a Gunner and the Sarge sniping in the passenger. Playing Co-op, my real-LIFE friend was in the tank. The Hunter pair decided to clamber up the slope - perfectly in-step with each other, side-by-side - as i was distracting the Wraith, and LITERALLY must have fired their Fuel Rods into each other's back no less than 4 times. It was hilarious! I know they put their weapons down when YOU get close, so as not to harm themselves, but i guess the proximity logic only applies to the enemy...
3rd: Why hasn't there been a "Platinum Edition" of Halo for XBOX? You know, like Max Payne and Morrowind, with the cool label and Silvery box-color?
4th: Has anyone looked at the image on the game CD and noticed that the Chief, who's driving, is indeed in the RIGHT-HAND seat?
5th: Anyone ELSE noticed that, in the Maw, when Foe Hammer comes careening in through that little underpass, both Banshees on her tail, that the Enemy Fliers are indeed...OPEN? i dunno about RIDER-less, but certainly wide open.
6th: If the Marine in 343 Guilty Spark, the one you find before you discover the Flood, who has isolated himself behind the Covie crate, who fires his pistol at you as he whimpers and screams and rants about his encounter with the infection forms? How he recalls that he "played DEAD," and the little bastards completely over-looked him? Is this merely an extremely rare chance, or a very effective defense against the most horrific death imaginable? (One reason to read The Flood is to have a first-hand look at how the Flood assimilate your body and -blam!- your mind of all it's memories, all your defining moments and traits.)
7th: Anyone who's ANYONE has played DOOM, at LEAST once. if you haven't, you suck. ANYWAYS, we all know that if you line it up right, enemies will occasionally hit one another - and then turn on each other. I know there's the whole Covie Caste in existence, but say a Grunt empties a charged Plasma pistol plume into a Jackal's back - could the Jackal retaliate? Grunts ARE considered lower....actually, the LOWEST....and what if any one of the lesser species fires upon an Elite, or even a Brute? Wouldn't it be AWESOME seeing an Elite like BACKHAND a klumsy Grunt, or a Brute punch a gaping hole in a Jackal with his Slug-Gun? I personally think that'd kick ASS.
Thoughts? Ideas? Personal experiences of the remaining little insignificant follies of Halo 1?
