Hi,
I just got my first xbox so this all SOOOOO new but my question is....

I want to play HALO ODST with my son, multiplayer, me versus him. Do we have to have xbox live ids to do this or is it possible to set up solely in our box to play split screen locally against each other? If so how do we go about doing this?

Cheers,

Split-screen, two controllers, but ODST doesn't support versus multiplayer, only co-op. You'll have a multiplayer disc in the ODST case.

ODST is split screen coop only. Halo 3 disc that comes with it supports split screen.

Okay, so xbox live membership is only nessasary to play online in matchmaking, as long as you are on the same box you can play together, but ODST doesnt have a versus mode, its more of a teamwork game, if you bought the game in the regular case, there should be another disc with the multiplayer on it from Halo 3, thats the one that has versus, you just enter into a custom game, pick a map, a team and have at it, but ODST is much funner, in my opinion anyway, itll give you a more father son bonding experience since its about teamwork.
