Yes, he wasn't intelligent enough so he fell. And he was Mendicant Bias.
Also that 2401 Penitent Tangent had his circuits messed with, so yes, flood can fool and -blam!- around with robots too, that is if their programming allows it, simple logic that even I can write couldn't be messed with by words, Smart A.I.s are the effing problem!
And yes, flood could be beaten, for all I care we could just bombard them with neutrons and watch them vanish and turn into, hmm, what were they made of again? Oh well.
But in reality, flood would win hands down.
Expect in this case of scenario:
We lived like we have from the beginning of our time to this day in our corner of the universe and the flood in the other corner, not knowing about each other, by the time when we finally meet each other (if we do, that is) flood would know nothing about the higher level thinking as we do. And we might just win. Why? Because they are parasitic and only care about their survival in general level. They infect animals, similar to the ones in our planet, so what? They do not posses enough intelligence capabilities to do anything.
Oh, and I just have to take part in that "You have to kill every flood to kill Gravemind (The intelligence.).
Not true, that telepath(et)ic thing is just bs.
Information doesn't transfer without measurable happenings and the information in their nerve systems ceases to exist when the body dies. Simple as that.
