If you can read this, that means I'm not a Shaolin monk...

yet.

I've won 4 games in a row, and still won't rank up. All my friends are offline, and I'm too scared to loose with randoms. If I rank up on my 5th win, will every rank be like that?

Depends on your exp. in the game variant and number of games played. I am virtually locked in a rank because of this and due to hitting my skill level ability.

101 EXP in TS. Played maybe 200-300 games?

riot is to halo as batman is to gotham city

Everything has to do with your W/L. If your W/L is low and you win against players with high W/L, then you have more of a chance of ranking up.

In Halo 2 there was a "Progress" bar of sorts that you could view to see how much more "xp" you needed on any given level to rank up. That stills exists, but it is hidden in Halo 3.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

4 wins isn't much, just keep going.

XDeltaxHunterX he is a beast slayer player, KD higher than the ozone layer, enemies won't have a prayer even though his name can't be g.ayer!

lose 200 games in a row,
then win 50 in a row.
you'll rank up fast.

Weow kid, do you even lift?

It's all about what the trueskill formula expects from you.

If you are expected to lose, and you win, you'll have a better chance of ranking up.

If you are expected to lose, and you lose, you probably won't rank down.

If you are expected to win, and you win, you probably won't rank up.

If you are expected to win, and you lose, you probably will rank down (depending on how strong the expectation is).

Just keep winning, you will rank up.

As long as you don't constantly win in a To4 at low level, winning a lot will get you a high level.

So I'll need more than 4 wins in a row for every level?

Yaaay...

That was the explanation given me by a number of people. I have over 300 exp vs. 1000 game TS and have won 6 in a row and not budged, seemed to make sense.

Is Mike Hunt's explanation accurate?

If I loose one I'll have to win 5+ again?
