That'd be weird, but okay. Better if you could just record off your XBox to your compy. XP

That would be a good Idea. Make it like SB:LOC's replay mode, with filters and everything.

there are ways to record with a comp, I just don't want to explain it right now.

i like that idea. ive pulled off some good kills before and i think it would be cool to view it again.....maybe even at the end of the mp match, when it shows your scores if it would run like a highlight reel of the match in the background

Every bungie game Jason Jones has been involved with (read: not Oni) since Marathon 1 has had saved replays of games (both single player and mutli player). I was very disapointed to see Halo 1 didn't have this but they were rushed with the Xbox version. I hope Halo 2 has it, after all with the Xbox HD it should be very feasible.

Just an FYI: this wouldn't take much memory as the replays would be done in realtime (just scripted events). This is how all the previous bungie games did it.

That would tottally rock. You know you could do save" films" with marathon, so maybe they'll do that for halo 2 as well.

All you really needed (in Halo 1) to get video off your game was put a tape in your VCR or invest in a capture card ...

But it would be cool ... if in Halo 2 they had an option where you could save replays and send them over Live to your friends ...

Would make Clan tryouts a wee bit easier too ...

I think the only way it would work is if the box saved all the kills and you could have the option to save them or replay them after the match, cause your going to find some retard in a online game that wants to pause after every kill he gets.

If they do have a replay mode, it should be free-camera mode (Like in myth) so your not limited to the view of the character.
Also, like in Myth, you should be able to watch the replays in slow motion (in myth you could go all the way down to 1/16th the normal speed)

A lot of old Bungie games have replay options, so it's very likely that
Halo 2 would have one. The option to download replays of top players
and learn from them would rock too. You can already do this with
recordings from MLG and stuff, but the quality bites.

It'd never work. And it would slow down the action too much, and we can't have any of that!

I absolutely agree. I've advocated this style in every post so far on this topic. We need the wide scale of view of Myth for replays to be cool.

Obviously, this would be an issue with load points, since you wouldn't be able to move the camera outside of the current loaded geometry. Maybe, as a compromise, the camera could be controlled by a similar feature to Myth's AutoCamera. That was really cool - I basically watched all my Myth films with it on. And the only times when I wanted to turn it off was when there were multiple battles going on, and I wanted to focus on one at a time, rather than skipping rapidly between them. In Halo, as a first person shooter, this would be less of an issue, at least in single player. And in multiplayer, you could select which player you want to focus on.

I'm hoping that they've implemented a film feature, and if not, they have enough time to do so now.
