As if by the Halo gods themselves, we were treated to completely lag free games last night. First time in, well a long time. One thing was different though. A friend I normally play H3 with from the Netherlands was absent. Accepting the fact that he could not always be pulling host, it seems just having his "connection" in our party was enough to lag all games, and all players with him present. Obviously this is not a tested fact, but we all noticed it.

Any ideas, comments, or facts to share other than not playing H3 with a good friend?

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Halo 3 works like this: Whoever has the worst internet gets host. I was playing in narrows yesterday, and the host quit, and the lag went away.

Also, party leader =/= host. Halo 2, 3, and Reach pass the host to someone else.

All due respect, all efforts were made prior to last night, it was the first night he wasn't in the party. I understand the principles of host, lag, etc. Wanted actual, factual input on the subject. I do appreciate the input though.

he doesnt read anything properly tbh. It all depends where the other lives. As for me in the uk i have no problem with american, french, canada. The only time i ever get lag usually is Australian and new zealand players. Now and again some americans. Sometimes if you host the game u will get lucky and it will be ur connection.

He is Dutch, the Netherlands, and had become a good friend. I have no intention of leaving a friend behind, so to speak, just seems improbable his connection (when he does not have host) can drag down a whole game. It has long been known that some European connections, as well as, some Canadian connections do lag games when hosting. Was unaware just having a player with a bad connection in a party would consistently lag all games, all players. Usually they just lag themselves. THIS IS NOT A LAG HOST ISSUE!
