Here's Forty Shillings on the Drum,
For those who Volunteer to come,
to list and fight and fall today
over the hills and far away

So I'm assuming that these dreams will feel more realistic than normal dreams? Worth a try, I guess, even if I make a total fool out of myself.

Basically you realize your dreaming and can then partially control the dream.

I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death.

I always seem to wake up the instant I realize that I'm dreaming.

I had one lucid dream I can remeber.

I saw paper mario thousand year door gameplay,(I belived I was playing it.) and I was looking for a save block so I could wake up, then I realised I was dreaming and didn't need to save, and woke up.

I change shapes just to hide in this place but im still im still an animal...

I think i had one of these the other week unintentially.

1st dream, featuring all the cast of MGS4, dream revolved around using metal gear Rex to smash up this secret lab of bioweapons by stamping on them. Ended up ending on a cliff hanger and in the morning i thought, actually that wasnt a bad dream. The next day i had a similar dream and it was like the sequel.
The bioweapons were still being developed but this time the cast of mass effect 2 was the stars. We finally got to see these bioweapons and it was just an albino crocodile. I then thought in the dream, argh great, another crappy cheap sci-fi sequel where they cant be bothered to do good effects. Then i found out mind control devices were being used on civilians but they were just clear plastic cups on bald peoples heads. At this point i (commander shepard) nerdraged and just nuked the place from orbit because it had all the makings of a crap film. I was then walking down town and went into a small dodgy bookshop, then a shop opposite was being robbed so i got my pistol out and fired, went through a window, across the street, into the opposite shop but missed and killed a friends dog. I started to break down thinking what have i done and then woke up. Strange thing is i hate dogs anyway lol.
Knew it was a dream all along, just rolled with it cause otherwise sleeping is boring.

seems like partial lucid, u say u knew u knew u were dreaming but didnt change the dream, were u fully conscious throughout the dream? and knew what actions u were performing

All my dreams I have control over, always have since I was a kid. My most recent and remembrable one was I got shot, literally someone ripped me open with an Uzi and I felt every shot. Was epic. Strangly, I didn't wake, I carried on running around with a body like Swiss cheese. blood everywhere.

Yeah, as soon as i saw the albino crocodiles in test tubes i wanted to blow the place up because it was what the comic book guy would call "Worst sci-fi movie sequal EVER"

More awesome than a shark high-fiving a bear during an explosion...IN SPACE.

I lucid dream nearly every night. I'd like to see the inception guys try to get me, I'll just punch the ground and destroy the planet.

Actual Question from Jeopardy:
Trebek: This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker. Ken?
Ken: What's a Hoe?

lolz

One time I had a Lucid dream where I wished to skateboard with some pros on a sunny summer afternoon.....best dream ever. It really is amazing when you can control your dream. Most of the time I am just an in-dream spectator, like Harry Potter in the chamber of secrets.

"Shut up, you're only beating me by 8 kills"
"Shut up, you're like 42 years old"

I just had one. I realized I was dreaming when it started and got happy and woke up.

You mean you're actually reading my sig? Sweet jesus, this is a momentous occasion. I'd like to thank my family, my friends, my pet toad Trevor, and everybody else that played a part in me achieving this sort of thing! This is a monumental day for me; a justification for all those times people told me, "No! It's impossible! You can't do it!" and now I have done it. Somebody has opened my sig. This is the greatest moment in history.

This intrigues me. I'd love to dream about things I WANT TO rather than My Little Pony suicide bombers. My old French teacher was a hottie so I think I'll be visiting her for a bit of french oral lessons as soon as I manage it. Though with my lack of discipline could be months :(

I think I may have had sleep paralysis. I saw some sort of devil/ghost above me, and I couldn't move. Scared the -blam!- outta me.

Im not paralysed now though of course. And that one instance was definatly worth the lucid dream I had before it.

Correction OP: In Lucid dreaming, you only control you and everything that has to do with you. Well, that also has some exceptions.

If you are dreaming you are watching TV, and you want to flip to channel 5 you can flip to channel 5, but your brain will always try and thwart you. If a chicken runs in front of you before you pick up the remote and you glance at the chicken, when you glance up you may be already engaged in a different, unrelated activity in a different place. (E.g.- Glancing back up and you notice you are now on Mars on a very important NASA mission.)

If your brain senses that it is not completely engulfed and believing of the situation you try and dream, it will try and bring up ways to trick you and change the subject. Kinda like someone who changes topics suddenly when they are not interested in your conversation.

P.S.- You are only paralyzed when in REM sleep so your body doesn't lash out, acting your dreams, and you hurt yourself or others. When you wake up you shouldn't be paralyzed for more than a couple seconds, after which you can move, but you can't feel anything. You can hit your head off the bedpost, but not even realize you moved your head. You would be numb for a short while.
