Correction OP: In Lucid dreaming, you only control you and everything that has to do with you. Well, that also has some exceptions.

If you are dreaming you are watching TV, and you want to flip to channel 5 you can flip to channel 5, but your brain will always try and thwart you. If a chicken runs in front of you before you pick up the remote and you glance at the chicken, when you glance up you may be already engaged in a different, unrelated activity in a different place. (E.g.- Glancing back up and you notice you are now on Mars on a very important NASA mission.)

If your brain senses that it is not completely engulfed and believing of the situation you try and dream, it will try and bring up ways to trick you and change the subject. Kinda like someone who changes topics suddenly when they are not interested in your conversation.

correction poster, you can control anything and everything, i certainly can , i change landscape area's how things look, i can do anything when i lucid drea, u must not of fully mastereed lucididty yet

What you see with me is what you get. I would rather be hated for what I am than loved for something that I'm not.

I am who I am, not who you want me to be. Your approval isn't needed and your opinion isn't required or desired.

This is crazy. Alright so I read this thread last night and before I went to bed, I told myself that I would have a lucid dream. I started dreaming and I actually told myself in the dream that this was a lucid dream and as soon as I said that I woke up :(

Wow. This sounds intense. Few questions:

-Can you explain step #1 a little better? I don't quite understand.

-Occasionally, when I have nightmares, as soon as i get scared i think WAKE UP and I wake up. IS this kinda like lucid dreaming?

Anyone who claims the AR takes skill ought to shoot himself in the head. Preferably with the AR because they'll most likely miss with any other weapon.

So, you can't technically start a Lucid Dream, but instead wait for you to be dreaming, and then become self aware?

Self-awareness never leads to good things.

I read that in sleep paralysis you can see dark figures. I have lucid dreams every once in a while but a few weeks ago I went sleep paralysis and a saw this dark hooded green/black faced monster (sort of like the grim reaper) and I was shocked out of the state and I literally jumped out of my bed. I can't picture the figure really clearly but it is by far the scariest thing I have ever seen.

Also: I'm pretty sure it was the sleep paralysis state but can you confirm this? It also felt like right when I fell asleep this happened if that helps.

I think that may be possible....if not you can just include the boogie man in your dream and then kill him :)

for this who have posted in page 11, if u see a dark monster or creature in sleep paralysis state this can be caused because your conscious but your subconscious is still alert allowing itself to place images into your mind that arent actually aware, once ur normal state kicks in ur subconscious gets effectively beaten into submition so u no longer see the thing.

there are others ways of becoming luucid you dont have to become self-aware there are other methods but they are fairly complicated i will update my psot so it reflects these methods, i left it a while as u need to of had a couple and to of done the other methods to be able to do these

there is actually another reality check howver i dont recommend doing it regularly on a basis.
basically run into a wall headfirst if its a dream you'll keep on going if not you will smash into it and potentially knowck urself out.
dont try this in public unless you definetely want to, and if ur wearing a bike helmet

Thanks OP for posting this thread, it allows the few of us who can control our dreams to help others achieve the same.

Ban teh kittehs.

I believe they actually have like....tools for having lucid dreams. Matter of fact *searches for a link....fails* there's a kind of sleep mask you wear that flashes a red light when it notices you've entered REM sleep.

You see the red light in your dream (or something similar, brains might interpret the light differently) and you get an instant reality check.

Hello. I'm omega cheater. And No, I don't cheat. I play hardcore. Currently a Colonel Grade 3 in Halo 3 and a HERO in Halo Reach, soon rising, if im a higher rank and i forget to update this then whatever, I'm in a mini group called the Skull-Knights. i have a few questions about lucid dreaming.. you say i can control E V E R Y T H I N G while dreaming... but can i control time? You only have about 4 hours of lucid dreaming but can you slow down the time in the dream compared to real life? say.. 1 second in real life could be 10 seconds in the dream? And another question, Say your in a lucid dream, and you know it but you can still feel pain in the dream... if this happens (happened to me before) do you know what causes this?

EDIT: And i actually once had a shared lucid dream with my brother i beleive (this was so long ago, when i was just 6 i beleive, before i knew about lucid dreams, and when i had no control of my dreams) where we were at our house and a space ship crashed into our front yard and we both ran out to see what was happening and we saw our grandma standing infront of it o.O, had the same dream on the same night from the same FPV sight from our sepret bodies, like it was real life. anyway, do you know anything about shared lucid dreaming?

I am a monument to all your sins

I used to have lucid dreams all the time as a kid, although I never realized that I could do anything in them. Although I did beat up a giant once, ending a long streak of reoccurring dreams about said giant that haunted a long st stretch of my childhood.

I've done this, I do it whenever I can.... It makes life easier because I'm less stressed.....I also have acquired the ability to pick up right where i left off....which means tonight I am going to continue my fight against the flood, xenomrphs, and covenant, as me, Spartan 118.....I also am picking up where I left off in me saving my friends and a special someone...

No offense, man, but this is like the stereotype of a D&D player who believes he really is his character on steroids.

Well, Your dream world can look like anything and everything. Theres no real description for it, last night in my dream i woke up and didnt realize i was in a lucid dream, every time i wake up i do something with my hands, i couldnt do it that time because my fingers went through my palms, but i didnt notice untill i woke up again.
