I spent 90% of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted.

Gach rud mo creideamh ea etfilu Dia.

I think I've done this before but I can never get to the point of remembering what my dreams were fully about and the downside is I have experienced sleep paralysis QUITE A BIT! And let me tell you, it SUCKS! It is the scariest, most jacked up thing ever.

Better.

Exactly. You can do anything you can essentially think of, as you realize it's a dream, and you are it's master.

Hell, I've had one memorable lucid dream myself. I played with Satriani in G3. It was f***ing awesome. But, since then, I can't really remember what I dream. :(

Don't worry, sometimes people go through spells of not remembering at times, just try to remember them more and it should work.

I mean it in my bio. I'm not going to join your clan.

I detest taking orders by some "high-ranking" guy who is just power hungry to control people's avatars over a video game.

Gah, I can't seem to ever get a lucid dream. My dreams just go haywire and suddenly, bam:

I'm having a Pokemon battle whilst fighting off an infestation of rancors.

To everyone who is getting sleep paralysis. Don't panic, as it just makes the situation worse. Slow your breathing and realize that you are going to be OK. You'll either fall back asleep or your body will eventually snap out of it.

Someone stated that it can lead to death? That is not true.

I naturally have Lucid dreams. Always have. And have gotten good at them. The minute I fall asleep I can control them. Even when taking naps that only last a few minutes. It's weird, but true. I know most people will only have them in REM, which only happens in the deepest sleep. But my body's sleep cycle is not normal. I literally dream almost the minute I fall asleep. Most of the times literally falling into a dream, having a long long lucid dream, only to wake up ten minutes later. (Very odd feeling) (Had this happen about three times in a row the other day)

I also suffer from sleep paralysis quite often. And, although you never get used to the feeling, the best advice I can give is DO NOT PANIC while you are in it. It will cause your breathing to go through the roof which will cause you to freak out more. Just slow down, and realize you WILL BE OK. I can usually make myself snap out of it now by concentrating very hard on moving my torso or one of my arms. But like the OP said, once you get your motor skills going you will snap right out of it.

Disregard everything, acquire ponies.

I had a lucid dream once before. I was sick and feverish at the time. I was dreaming I was playing risk on a huge game board, but my opponents were large pink elephants. Yeah, it was kinda weird.

@Soldier I haven't lucid dreamt for a month. How do you lucid dream so easily?

I think partly cause I fall into REM extremely fast compared to a normal person. And because of this short gap between me falling asleep and dreaming, I literally will fall into a dream. 98 percent of the time, unless I'm extremely tired, I will know that I fell asleep and am now dreaming. I often fight with my own mind over control of the dream, but even if I can't control it, it is very very vibrant and alive.

I've done this my whole life, so literally, I lucid dream almost every night of my life.

Now there are down sides to this, I do suffer from sleep paralysis more times then I'd like. And I also wake up quite frequently in the middle of the night. (Some times my body doesn't agree with what I'm doing in my sleep, jolting me awake)

I honestly can't really give you guys to many pointers on HOW to lucid dream. Since it comes completely natural to me. But I will answer any questions you guys might have.

Just how vivid are lucid dreams?, most of my dreams lack a lot of detail and only important parts like people's faces or buildings and objects aren't blurred or fuzzy.

Lucid dreams, If you don't realize you are dreaming, will trick you into feeling like you are awake. They will be so real feeling you will honestly not know the difference. You'll feel emotion, you'll sometimes feel pain. Everything you would experience in real life you experience in a lucid dream. it's not just fuzzy details or peoples faces. It's almost like complete "mini stories" within your head, of your life. Your dream world feels like a real world.

That's the best way I can describe it.

  • 09.30.2011 6:56 PM PDT

Expanding on that. Because of that depth of feeling and realism in a lucid dream, I get very excited to sleep, sometimes. Because really, it's rolling the dice.
If I have control, or it's a pleasant dream it's an amazing feeling unlike any other. I go places, explore, do things that are impossible. But if I get dealt a bad hand, and I can't control it, it can be a terrifying experience.

When I broke my ankle, I needed crutches to walk. I called them "Armor" and "Lock"

Twice now, I have had dreams where I heard my own voice narrating the dream for a few seconds. In one dream I was washing my hands in a treehouse, and the mirror had a pig from Angry Birds in it. I was in first-person, but then it switched to third-person and I heard my own voice say "At this point, I don't know how I didn't realize I was dreaming" When my voice stopped talking, The dream went back into first-person, and continued normally. I was completley unaware of the voice until I woke up

Then in a dream I had just last night, there was a spartan in a warehouse enclosed by metal gates. I heard my voice say "I don't know why I didn't do something really epic in the dream" and sure enough, right when my voice said that, the spartan, (which I guess was me) walked up to one of the gates, stuck a plasma grenade to it, blew up the gate and ran from the warehouse. (this was all in 3rd person)

I don't know wether to be freaked out or amazed. Can anyone explain this?

You have one, 10 minute(or so) rem cycle in your first 3 hours of sleep. All the other long rem cycles happen after 3 hours of sleep. This applies to every person. Sorry to burst your bubble but this is fact. It's most likely you feel like it happens fast when in reality it's been like 5 hours or so.

Also, sleep paralysis is a good thing. If you ever feel the vibrations just stand up and your in a lucid dream. If you are in the frozen state of sp just swallow and your out of it ;)

I don't understand why people make it out to be a bad thing. They are just scaring off the newbies.
