Forgot to post this a while ago, but I finally had a true lucid dream a few weeks ago, except, I had three in a row.

The first one was me just sitting in my old school's classroom learning French. Funny, because we only learned Spanish. Once I realized this, I transformed the dream into a nice sunny day where everyone from my old school were just outside having fun.

I forgot the second dream, but the third dream was just me and this cute girl sitting in my room playing video games. I was playing Fallout, she was playing Pokemon.

Then I woke up because I got too excited.

That's quite good for a first lucid dream, 3 at once is quite rare for a first time.
So you woke up when you became exited with this girl dream?

AXIOS you idiot.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

I'm having alot of trouble just trying to get myself to at least dream--
--and I'm not able to unless I awake in the middle of the night, and then think of something as I fall asleep.

Help? (I am also forgetting to do reality checks :\

I'll post this one more time, I feel like it got no attention...

I have very vague lucid dreams, its always this epic scene or a scene with some importance playing, but then it skips the parts with no importance and takes me straight into what happens next.

Like this: I was looking through the eyes of a woman, she was running through a dark city, the people were ebony slaughtered by dark creatures that moved like shadows.

Whatever happened next was skipped.

The next scene was the same woman. She was on the ground, on her back. A vehicle was overturned on the road and a man was unconscious a few feet away from her.

It was obvious that the two were in an accident of some sort.

She kept slipping in and out of consciousness and everytime she woke, a man seemed to be walkIng towards the wreck. He came closer and closer. The next time she woke, he was seen shooting the man on the floor in the head. He walks towards her.

Now I'm viewing it from his eyes.

He grabs her arm as she tries to fight him, he stomps on her face a couple times to knock her out.

Next scene.

He is now in a cave, the only opening is above them, the woman is next to him.

Next scene.

It seems as if the Man joined his body with hers to make some sort of dark being. Whatever it is though, its pitch black, like a black hole, the only thIng pointing it out is the dark purple outline of the figure. It's huge and doesn't have a definite form, it's a massive blob attempting to form itself into something.

Next scene.

There is day light. There is a crowd of people around a hole in the ground. I'm assuming it's the same hole from the previous scene. I'm in control of this body now. I watch as the group leader points down the hole to a giant tree within the cave. It's not an ordinary tree though, it seems to be a mix between metallic link fences and windows that surround the tree, there are heavy chains angling up from the fences to the branches high above. There is a giant clock in the center of the tree.

The tree has three platforms, of levels, the bottom and center have rooms. The top is a platform with a table, I think its something, in the middle with 9 rods sticking out of them. The rest of the last platform has antique furniture placed on it.

It reminds me of a realm made by a mad man.

The leader tells us we must go down there, I forgot the reason but it has something to do with the woman from the previous scene. I think we have to free her. She tells us the tree can act on it's own and will protect the object in the last platform.

One of the boys in the group ignores her warning and says this should be simple, he is full of himself. He jumps down the hole and the tree acts out. A branch is swung at him and his body is utterly destroyed, pieces of him fly across the cave.

Everyone becomes nervous. The woman reassures us and tells us we can do this. She pulls out a bottle and tells us it is liquid copper. She tells us this will give us great speed to be able to dodge the trees attacks. She drinks some and jumps in, we were told there was a bottle in each of our bags. We grab ours, drink it and jump down with her.

Immediately, the tree is attacking the first people to jump down, it's quick, but the liquid copper makes us quicker. We avoid the branches and with the luquid copper, we are able to jump twice as high.

We jump past te fences and grab one of the chains attached, we each cut our own and are lifted up to the second platform.

We are now running in and out of rooms and jumping out of windows, apparently we still have the chains with us to be able to hang on to. We scale the second platform avoiding the branches as we go.

Next scene.

We made it to the final platform. Some of the boys are already attempting to open the table of whatever in the center while others keep a more deadlier attacker occupied. The boys wrap the chain they have to a rod that is closer to them. They then jerk the chain up and open the rod, they need a key to unlock each of the 9.

Next scene.

We found our keys, now we begin to unlock the rods. The "table" begins to open...

I wake up.

That sounds awesome.

Thats what I thought, thats why I wrote it down soon after I woke up, lol.

I am assuming direct control.

I naturally have always had the ability to sometimes dream lucidly. I hate it. That sinking feeling you get when you wake up and realize nothing in your dream was ever real...

What if I can't remember any of my dreams in the first place? I honestly can't remember even 1% of my dreams, it's just black. How will I get better at dream recall if I can't remember any in the first place?

You usually don't remember them because you aren't trying to, if you set your mind to remembering dreams they just start coming back to you a lot easier.

I was in the same boat as you until I started trying. Just get a notebook by your bed so you can write in it as soon as you wake up.

hmmmm I dunno. I kind of doubt that you can feel whatever might be happening to you.
If every person I have ever asked about it is to be believed you apparently retain the same amount of sensory and mental awareness as you do in your awake state.

This is neurologically verified by the fact that during lucid dreaming the parts of your brain associated with consciousness are active when they would usually be dormant in normal REM sleep.

hmmm I would really like to try this kind of stuff out. Lucid dreaming, out of body experiences, all that good stuff but it seems like a lot of work tbh
Out of body experiences and astral projection is going into the areas of unverified hokey, lucid dreaming is the only solid one that has been verified with proper investigation.

Yes it does sound like a lot of work but it's summer and you have loads of time and the stuff you need to do can easily be taken into your stride I've found. I have yet to experience one myself but I'm still trying because it honestly sounds like one of the most fun things ever.

What would you do?
Well I'm doing a few things at the moment

-Recording my dreams every morning
-Doing regular reality checks throughout the day
-Placing reminders to question whether I'm in a dream around the house
-Increasing my general awareness of my environment and familiarisation with the actual "feeling" of being awake so I can compare it to the feeling of being in a normal dream and realise that I am dreaming

And once you get there, what will you do?
At first I will try to control my excitement so I don't wake myself up, that being a common problem for most first timers.

When I actually manage to do it I'll be at a slight loss because of the infinite possibilities, flying is high on my list, interacting with the people in the dream should also be entertaining because they always try to convince you that you aren't dreaming with very little success, also telling a person in your dream that they don't exist can have very strange results.

I know right? You can literally do ANYTHING. Unfortunately I'll probably get to excited and wake up. By the way, which reality check, I guess, works best for you? Not quite sure how to word that. I tend to use the fingers through the hand thing, but whenever I see a clock I use that one.

Sorry for the extremely late response.

Yeah, I got overly excited. Thing is, in that first dream, I "felt" myself getting to excited and calmed down, and asked for more clarity. I got some of it, but not all. The dream with the girl was when I realized that I wasn't just lucid dreaming off a "random" dream, but I in fact staged the whole thing. For the love of me I just can't remember that second dream.

Day 5: Still no success with be able to have even a regular dream... Going to keep trying. Although I have been getting headaches every morning ever since I started trying... Maybe i'm trying too hard?

Well I usually do at least two at a time out of the following:

-Counting my fingers and generally making sure my hand is normal
-Trying to pass my hand through a solid object (the amount of force you apply depends on how you imagine it will pass through) I used to do the hand through hand thing but I think the elasticity of the skin kind of detracts from it so I prefer to use rigid materials like walls
-Reading a nearby sentence and then reading it again to check for changes
-Check my watch then check again after a few seconds for any changes
-Hold my nose and close my mouth and try to breathe in
-Jump to see if I float down
-Generally look around the room for any inconsistencies

Variety is always good

Side note: didn't dream last night, annoying but I've only been going for less than a week.

Same here. It's been getting rather annoying. Not being to remember your dreams at all.
