Would reading your OP over and over again help with this?

Yes it would. That's because normally reading over this would enter your short term memory and only 5% would be remembered. However if you read it more often there is a higher chance of the memory being encoded instead of being stored purely in short term-which only lasts approxiametely 18 seconds.
If you do encode it into long term memory you will have a chance of dreaming about this as your brain will try to collate the information in dreams, leading to a chance of it appearing.

Sometimes I really wish that I could plug a DRD (Dream Recording Device) into my head at night and review the contents as if they've been caught on a camera. There are so many interesting things that I see in exact detail that fade to a blur by the time I awake; so many interesting ideas that I could've used and events that I could re-experience. Heck, I bet it could possibly be an entirely new type of filmmaking, too. Imagine making a movie that doesn't require any actors nor a budget but stems from your own imagination while you're asleep.

I dunno, I just wish that dreams could be like those home movies shot while I was growing up; something I could look back upon to see what I'd gone through in the past. But like time, I suppose, it moves on. What dream records I keep only give me so much of an idea of what the dreams were like.

Thats like saying uber nerf armor lock because like 20 percent of the community hates it. Oh wait..................

Just recently i was able to put myself purposefully into a state of sleep peralisis. I layed perfectly motionless for 2 hours just thinking waiting for my body to loose any and all feelings. When i finally thought i had it and tried to move... I got no answer. Over the next 20 minutes as my brain restarted whatever bits are necessary for movement it was the best physical sensation i have yet to experience in my 18 years of life. like someone letting fresh air into a dead room or the life returning to a dead body...

Okay i think i had my first ever one last night.
Not trying to it just randomly happened, it was the most realistic dream i've ever had.

Was lying on my bench and though i should go to toilet, so i blinked and when i opened my eyes i was in the bathroom, i thought i just blacked out. It felt very wierd and it was very dark, i thought it might be a dream so i felt the brackets on the walls and the window sill to see if it was real, and it felt very real, i then slumped down against the wall and felt real dizzy, i then thought to myself if the toilet isnt in the right place then its a dream, so i had a look, and it was on the opposite side of the room. I felt very very shocked and woke up in my bed 0_0

All the things i could have done, all the places i could have been, all the things i could have been, i could have even had a freakin girlfriend.

And i dreamed i was dizzy in the bathroom...

After following these guidelines for a while I've had a few lucid dreams, but they've usually ended right after I realize I'm dreaming. However, two nights ago I had one that I had time to manipulate before waking up.

It started with me at an ICP concert (I don't know why, I'm not even a fan), and I'm surrounded by juggalos. For some reason I want to get out, so I run through a nearby cave. It turns out the cave makes a u-turn and I end up on the other side of the concert. I then see a huge Cyberdemon marching towards me, so I hop over a nearby fence and run through some woods. When I look behind me and see that the Cyberdemon didn't notice me, I realize that I'm dreaming.

I continue to run through the woods until they end, and then I run up a hill. At the top of the hill there's a ranch with a blanket of snow covering it. I see the sun setting in the distance, and when it completely recedes behind the horizon I make it reappear. Then for some reason I made a car appear near me. Seeing no use for it, I decided to teleport into a spaceship. After doing this I began to worry that I would get too excited and wake up, so I imagined the ranch again and teleported there. Then I woke up anyway. :(

It wasn't very eventful, but I thought I would share my experience here anyway. I hope to have more exciting lucid dreams in the future.

What can I say, never been here much before now. You have to admit there are incredible similarities between the two - although I will say there is a lot less gore/couponing/horror than on 4chan.

It is quite similar but so is pretty much every forum board on the internet, besides its safe to say a fair few here do frequent 4chan as well as other places. Besides i've seen this thread in all sorts of forums such as furaffinity.

Hey OP. I have just one problem for this. Prove me if I wrong here, but I have always seen dreams and conquering or getting over thing in your sub-conciseness or stuff that has happened in your day.

If this is true, is it really wise to -blam!- with this

It is merely your brain going over a few encodings peformed throughout your day. Lucid dreaming has no negative effective on it as the capacity of long term memory is unlimited. Dreams are commonly the brains way to sort out information recieved during the day to try and make sense of little things and what ever is happening in your subconscious.

It's fine, i've been doing this for years and my memory has improved.

  • 09.24.2012 2:05 PM PDT

Well I haven't reached lucid dreaming yet, but Im starting to remember my dreams more often.

  • 09.25.2012 6:56 PM PDT

I do it all the time. I'm actually surprised that so many other people can't.

I tend to fly, teleport (though this is harder to do), walk through walls or stay underwater for as long as I want.

By the way, is anyone in here a chemist?

It's almost impossible...

It's not impossible, just difficult- same as learning to play games, at first seems impossible but after a while you do it without even thinking.

Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

One, two, Pinkie's... Coming for you...

What if you know you're dreaming, but every time in your dream, you can't move your own body? Is there a way around this?
