Here's Forty Shillings on the Drum,
For those who Volunteer to come,
to list and fight and fall today
over the hills and far away

I sort of had one last night. I didn't have control over it though and I didn't realise that I was completely dreaming. It was very odd it has to be said. I need to train myself to notice when I am dreaming and be more conscious about it.

Thread saved.

If this can make me dream about anything other than sex then it is worth it.

I've come to understand I've been in a lucid dream before, its actually still very clear to me though I will admit I was not in full control of everything around me because I wasn't aware that I could be.

It was like I combined my elementary school and High Schools fields together to make one super giant playing field, I was playing football with a group of people I didn't know and suddenly I jumped (cause I was excited for some odd reason, I guess I like football though I haven't played in a long time) and noticed I jumped what must have been 10 feet into the air. I landed then literally said to myself.

"I'm dreaming." All calm like too, it was very exciting, then I looked back and everyone was gone, I was suddenly alone on the field then somehow I knew they were all on the other side of this giant wall that cut the field off from the rest of the world, how I knew this I don't know but the wall wasn't there before until I realized I was dreaming.

So like in Super Mario 64, I ran, jumped once, jumped again, then jumped once more and was suddenly soaring high into the sky to get over this wall, only then did I remember I have a horrible fear of heights and as I fell to the ground I flailed around and landed horribly on my shoulder.

Surprisingly I didn't wake up like usual. I looked around and realized I was suddenly in a prison/military school, I had a bag right next to me with a pair of giant scissors and in the corner of the facility was a wire that I had to cut.

At this point I did stop for a split second and I actually asked myself why I'm dreaming this.

After that point I think the lucidity of my dream lost itself because I began moving and acting without thought of wanting to, I realized I was losing control of the dream the moment I felt scared and got tense from the height I had jumped so...

After that I had a dream that I was like Iron man only more cyborg like or something. This dream wasn't lucid but damn, I jumped really high in that dream thinking I could fly only to plummet to the ground and wake myself up.

Seriously though OP, I'm going to do this now, I've been plagued with chronic wet dreams for over two years now, if I can literally stop myself and come to understand that I can control these dreams, well. It'd be nice to have my epic fighting dreams again.

Once had a dream I was a Ninja with a Ninja wife and son and daughter. God how I miss dreams like that...

/honesty

I've been extremely stressed for the past few years after my last relationship, ever since then they've been going on, they sure as hell don't make my waking life any easier.

Are there any really bad side effects to this?

I mean. How do you wake up? Is it not possible that you could be stuck in this state forever?

No, you wake up naturally.

throwning snowballs at cars is like doing a bell ditch. The end result is basically the same: sprinting away from the large man exiting his car who yells profanities, hiding behind a house, and watching as his car patrols the street, waiting to murder you.

Asking the flood for dating advice is like you going up to a bunch of starving Africans and debating the pros and cons of the bacon roll vs the double cheeseburger.

Some one who stands for nothing shall fall for everything.

I've got a talent for remembering dreams I can recall some dreams from a few years back but I still can't lucid dream.

nice copy paste.

i honestly, swear to god , did not copy and paste it is all my own work, i merely found sources of information and then after using it to have licud dreams put it into my own words for you to read, i believe my ocasional typos will prove me right as copy and paste of internet contains next to no typo's

It is a copy paste. This was posted in a huge Lucid dreaming thread on /b/ near to a month ago and was even in the OP in the third thread.

Everyone can easily go back and delete a few letters here, change some words there. I mean the majority of us have even done it for homework in school and college.

Im glad you posted it here, but lying about it being your own work is unbelievable.

That is unless you and the perso who made the 'guide' originally have a lot in common and have managed to write almost the exact same words.

i have never in my entire life, swear to god, seen another thread about this anywhere i did not copy and paste, i posteed the techniques i use because i had a non lucid dream where people would come to appreciate this, therefore i made this out of my own words it took me half an hour , i wish there was a way to prove it
besides people often use the same techniques with variations this other dude must use the same techniques as me but this is completely my work
also not many people actually did homework at school on lucid dreams, i have asked many adults what a lucid dream is and they reply simply a dream, not many know about this

you wont end up like an inception person,
perfoming this step is merely to get ur brain to question if something is real or not and when u combine this with reality checks u end up doing this in a dream and having lucidity

i had success, i had two dreams, the first normal where i woke up 3.30 then i used wild to let my body fall asleep while keeping my mind conscious to cause a lucid dream, it didnt go too well, i mean i had a dream but i got shocked awake

This is a very good guide. I have been a lucid dreamer since I was 15 years old. (I am 22)So I am quite good at it. Here is something else that helps you to have dreams: Alcohol. If you get a little bit drunk before you go to sleep, you will have dreams. At least that is my experience, I tend to have more vivid dreams after some light drinking.

i heard about using alcohol, caffeine is meant to be good my problem is it stops me from actually falling asleep so im just left lying down thinking, 'i shall lucid dream' for about an hour

  • 02.03.2011 8:01 AM PDT

This is actually possible as I have also had these dreams before. I don't know if all of your steps will work but I do know for a fact that you can become conscious while dreaming.

this is the final stage of lucid dreams, i control mine occasionally im yet to control them all, im close tho

Knowing you are dreaming to control your dreams fails. You have to subconsciously want something strong enough that your will makes your desires within your dreams come true while still giving you the illusion that the dream is reality. Of course, if your will is too strong and you overdo it, you'll shatter that illusion and realize you are dreaming.

Well, if you're going that route, there are other substances that will further enhance the illusion... if you have trouble making out reality from fantasy in your conscious state, then falling asleep will probably seem like a total mind f*** to you.

Check them out.

I once had a dream that took nearly a whole week, but when i woke up, only 20 min had passed!

I was so confused, that i actually thought some things out of that dream where really there in the real world, like having 300,- extra cash and stuff like that :P

I was sort off half asleep and hald awake. No one in my school noticed, because everything just went automaticly, like i had no realization of what was going on, but still noticed it happening.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag

This works, holy crap

Yeah, I hate when I have a memory of something that never actually happened. Extremely rare and typically for mundane things, but still very strange.
