If you look at the ending of Halo: Reach where Noble six is getting overwhelmed of Elites, you will notice a foot of an Elite at the very end of the clip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWxRhEHfMk4
(special part is exactly at 3:27)

I think there's way too much effort in those sec's in the clip to not be anything more than a spartans death.

There's some evidence that it could be Rtas, or more commonly:
''Half jaw'', ''Spec-op leader'' or later on: ''Shipmaster'' or ''Heretic Hero''.

The coulor of the foot is silver.
So is Rtas armor and no other elite leader class wears silver armor in Halo: Reach. Pic

Now for the interesting part:

At the last coupple of sec's, the Elite takes out an energy sword IN HIS LEFT HAND!
You may also notice the music as he activates his sword.
Rtas is a few of the left-handed elites, and he is known for his sword skills.
Here's a cutscene from Halo 2 that proves that:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF6Xs-m2crM

This were the little things that convinced me that it were Rtas/his squad that killed Noble 6.

Were it Rtas and his squad, or were it just random elites?

What do you think?

Rtas was with Thel when he followed the Autumn, he cannot be in two places at once. -_-

The death of Noble 6 were just a coupple of minutes after the Autumn left.
Rtas could have killed him and maybe some of the other random Spartans sleeping around there, to then catch up to Thel.

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

:/

I am sure that there are other left-handed ultra's in the Covenant. It is not the most concrete hypothesis.

Pillar of Autumn had left just shortly after 0600 hours or something. Lone Wolf takes place at 2000 hours I think. Rtas was in the Fleet of Particular Justice, which jumped after the Pillar of Autumn. He could not be there on Reach at that time.

No, Lone Wolf takes place hours after Six gives Keyes the package.

- Pillar of Autumn leaves for Halo: August 30th, 2552 1652 hours
- Six dies: August 30th, 2552 20:00 hours

The basis of this whole "theory" is one of the weakest I've seen. So because the Sangheili's foot is silver and is carrying an Energy Sword, it must be Rtas?

Upon rewatching the video, the silver Elite hasn't even got an Energy Sword, it's plasma wrist-blade is active on its right hand and it holds down Six. The Elite whose foot is in the way of the camera has purple armour.

I don't think it was Rtas, but it would be cool if they released an add on about him during the invasion. Unless he stayed in space the whole time :P

It would have had to be before the PoA fled Reach, because even the Covenant have to follow human ships when they enter slipspace in order to follow and reach it's destination, in case, for example, if the PoA had retreated to Earth, they would have found our homeworld.

I think if it was Rtas, it would be an interesting cameo.

However, if you watch this, at 3:28 you can see that the Silver Elite is a Sangheili Ultra.
At the time of Reach and his apperance in the Halo: Graphic Novel, set just after the events of Halo, Rtas holds the position of SpecOps leader. Which if you look here shows that the possition is higher than the Ultra grade of elite.

I doubt that he would have jumped 5 grades in such a short time. Sorry :(

I'm not saying he was an Ultra.
And we can't see what exact armour that foot wears, only that it's silver if you turn up contrast and coulor on your pc or tv.

When i said ''left'' i meant the slipspace-rupture which were only minutes after the death of 6, as i said.
And i think we don't think of the same Sanghieli.
He's armour is for sure silver if you turn up contrast and coulors on your pc/tv.
It's clearly an Energysword he's holding too because it's 2-bladed.

is it at all possible that a carrier that was left had picked him up
I mean the events on halo were longer then an hour or so and it wouldnt take long for the ship to fly to the coordinates.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

I'm watching the cutscene right now in HQ.

Noble six dies 3 hours after The PoA leaves Reach, with Rtas on board a covenant ship that followed, imediatly.

The Infinite Succor, the infected ship, was part of the Fleet Of Particular Justice, Which was commanded by Thel Vadamee.

The SpecOps mission that takes place on The Infinate Succor, takes place just after the flood are released on Alpha halo.

Rtas could not have boarded another ship and arrived afterwards.

Also, think logicaly, is Rtas was serving with the Fleet of Particular Justice, why would he be assinged to a ground mission on Reach?

It can not be Rtas by any means possible. End of story!

No, Rtas was aboard the Seeker of Truth with Thel, he did not set foot on Reach.

Keyes says that they are away with the package, they leave the system immediately and are followed by Thel with some of his ships (Truth & Reconciliation, Infinite Succor etc). There is no time lapse between them, Lone Wolf begins hours after the Autumn leaves so there is NO POSSIBLE WAY IT CAN BE RTAS.

Marine: "Got a new contact. Unknown Classification!"
Lord Hood: "If it isn't one of ours, take it out."
MC: "This is bus 117, can anyone hear me? Over."
Lord Hood: "Isolate that signal. Master Chief, you mind telling me you're doing at that school?"
MC: "Sir... picking up these kids."

If the Sangheili shown was intended to be Thel or R'tas, then it's just another mistake, like the Pillar of Autumn being on Reach, the date screw ups, etc.

If it is, I'd imagine we'll never get confirmation. There has been no official word on why the Pillar of Autumn was on Reach, or why the dates were messed up. They know they messed it up, so they're keeping quiet about it. If the character was intended to be anyone important, it's just ANOTHER mistake. Thel and R'tas were on were following the Autumn to Halo. Especially at 2000 hours. In fact I would imagine the one part that wasn't glassed in the First Strike is where you are in Reach. Maybe... I mean that's the only reason I could imagine why the Covenant would deploy ground troops on a planet they're glassing.

If it is, it just breaks canon, but you may be right that it was intended.

Rtas is a specops commander, why would he fight alongside high leaders instead of the specops like those in Halo 2?

What do you mean with ''High leaders''?
There were a bunch on Zealots in the squad that killed six.
Rtas uses Zealots in most of his missions too, not just Spec-ops.
Note that the rank Spec-op in Halo 2 were the highest infantry rank. In reach; it's Zealot.
It would intendenly be Spec-ops that killed six, but since reach -blam!- up the ranks, it's Zealots instead.

Rtas was gone to Halo with the rest of Thel's fleet before the events of Lone Wolf even took place. He was not there!

  • 03.09.2011 7:10 AM PDT

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

I don't exactly know what to think. But really, why place a random, unidentified, left-handed Sangheili right in front of the camera view for no reason? I can't let go of the fact it must be something of importance or...anything of similarity.

Well seeing as its a physical impossibility for someone to be in two places at once you should be thinking that Rtas was not present during Noble 6's death.

Well, yes. I have seen that mentioned many times. Still, I'd really like to know what the point of that little scene was.
