Subject: Which "last" level was your favorite?

I like them in the order they came out, Reach's by far the LEAST.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Halo 2. The last mission hit everyone by surprise and it led a lot of people that I knew smashing their controllers when they found out it ended in a cliffhanger.

The Maw...idk, just something about it still makes me LOVE playing it even so many years later, also the Legendary ending is by far my favorite cut scene of all time, from ANY game...ever...of all time...

ODST, loved the warthog run with the covenant glassing Mombassa and the scarabs, epic.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The Maw will always have a special place in my heart. It's probably my favorite level of all the Halo games.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Halo 3's last level was the best. Good times were had getting the annual vidmaster.

I think it is close between CE and 3 for me.

Tough one.

Halo 3 loses: it does the same thing as Halo CE, and while that could have been cool; driving around grey plain metal sheets is not exactly that much fun.

ODST's was very actionpacked, and I loved how you really had the sense of a Covie invasion starting BIG TIME at that point with all the Cruisers dropping in, and countless Banshees littering the skies! I wish Reach had more of that during New Alexandria etc. But in the end not memorable enough.

Defeating Tartarus, and being confronted with some lines that would have this community going crazy with theories for 3 years straight was awesome! The Cliffhanger (with capital T and C, because this is THE cliffhanger of all cliffhangers known to mankind) made sense: we all knew H3 was coming but its placement was weird...too early. The final level itself was very actionpacked and great, but not my favorite.

Halo CE: THE Warthog Run.....amazing. So much fun. So much drama (Foehammer going down), so much adrenaline pumping (the big jump, the last part running with all those Flood behind you....it was amazing. It was the crazy big ruby on top of the crown that The Maw already was...on top of the new King of shooters that Halo was. In one word: AMAZING!

But there can only be one winner, and that is Reach.
It was actionpacked, filled with great cameos, tied Reach so well together with Halo CE (looking at how the games were connected; Reach did great...not so much with the books tho). The music...the whole tragedy going on. That big fight going on in the background. Trying to fight off 4 Zealots. You alone, as the last of Noble Team. Then finally succeeding and ensuring Chief would save mankind eventually (which was a GREAT way to connect the games!).
But the creme de la creme was off course Lone Wolf coming after it....it was so intensely tragic. So well done. You wanting to stay alive, knowing you will die...litterally fighting for your life this time. Showing Spartans are vulnerable too...
This was the best ending in the series if you ask me. It didn't hold back, it offered everything a good ending needs. It was better than I could have ever imagined.

Halo 2. A vehicle section with a competent AI on a Wraith? Fighting alongside hunters? A prison scene with Hunters and Councillors inside the cells? Using a Banshee to escort a Scarab through a canyon filled with Wraiths, Turrets, Spectres and Banshees? The best boss fight of the game, fighting against Tartarus alongside Johnson and hordes of Elites inside the control room as 343 narrates the activation of the Halo? Best final level ever.

Maw's good, but not that good.

Halo has the best song and skybox in the franchise, but the combat is a relatively meh flood battle.

Coastal Highway has no exiting combat scenarios, but it's different and has a good atmosphere.

PoA is long and boring. It's slow and has no sense of progression.

Lone Wolf sucks.

In my opinion, Halo 3 was my favorite "last" level. But if I could pick another one I would pick Halo 2.

"If you bring your sword to bear harm upon us, with claws and fangs, we will exact a toll."

"An organic life contact-purpose humanoid interface created by the Data Interface Thought Entity which supervises this galaxy, that would be me."

I'm Chinese, but I'm not born in China, I'm Singaporean. Which would explain my relative fluency in both English and Mandarin.

CE. Epic Warthog run was, and is, just so nostalgic.

Halo 2 was the worst for me, thanks to the cliffhanger.

Thanks to the cliffhanger.
The cliffhanger has practically nothing to do with the level. How the lack of other levels makes The Great Journey bad is beyond me.

Reach wins this. I could multiple times watch the PoA fleeing Reach as the last man standing thinking just.. wow.. and the next very moment you'll see the PoA making safely to Halo, and the next moment you'll hear phantom, spirits and banshees flying over you with Marty's fantastic music playing in the background only to receive unexpectedly an objective; Survive.

Complete badass.

Halo 3 was completely meh.. I mean, really? you drive 10 minutes seeing nothing but grey, the same environment and hearing the same explosions all over and you just end up boarding in a frigate? That's how you finish the fight?

I loved Halo 3's homage to CE, and I though that it was a really fitting way to end the trilogy. That said, Reach's ending was a great bit of narrative, ad I'll never forget seeing 'survive' pop up as my objective, knowing that Noble 6 was doomed.

Dead Mans Hand-Always Loaded.

I WAS SOCK

Yeah, nothing beats the epic drive of CE =)
