Subject: So, Bungie used something real?

I just noticed this. I was doing a book report about Halo: First Strike (Choose your own book, book report), so the setting is around Epsilion Eridani, right?

Well, there is a book called "You Can't Scare Me" which is a guide to the strange and supernatural. In the section "Is Anybody Out There?" that talks about aliens. Some "Whoop, whoop" sounds have been picked up by a SETI ( Search for ExtraTerrestial Intelligence) radar in the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico in a star named Epsilion Eridani...

So... All that 'medium-sized' paragraph was to explain and answer. Bungie used a real star for the name of a system in Halo. Which, If I'm not mistaking, is where Reach is.

Rise from Ruin...

Yes, that star system is acctaully the one we are most likely to attempt reaching in the future. There is alot of evidence that suggests a system most like our own, and most likely to support life. Its cool that your interested in that. Its a shame we wont fund SETI and other programs like it. Back in the 1980's we acctaully came up with a working design of an intersellar space craft that was very likely able to take humans to such a star system. Instead, we pay baseball players 100's of millions a year. Ah, how crazy we humans can be
