Dr. Angelo, PhD.

...That one day, you may forge on any Installation of your choosing.

OK, in all seriousness and cutting through the MLK Parody Crap, I did have a dream of forging. Kinda'. Didn't start out that way but it sure as Hell ended on that note.

I'm blanking on how it first started, but I want to say that it was on how you could submit your own textures into Forge for just simple re-skins of simple objects (like square blocks, for example). There was already a few samples submitted, ranging from things you'd probably find in Minecraft to detailed skins that actually had three dimensional objects stick out of the texture and reacted pretty well in various lights (reflecting light, having the light reflect different on different textures, casting shadows, etc...).

The sample catalog of community textures I cycled through were labeled by actual B.Net Members, too. I remember seeing one and thinking "Huh", considering that the person who made that texture probably doesn't even know how to make simple photo shop pieces to begin with, let alone submit something to a rather popular title. But I'll withhold the name since it's a no-no to make posts about specific users.

What followed next was pretty intimidating, yet left me awestruck. I found myself sitting in the middle of the Coliseum on Forge World, facing out that large opening that leads to the rest of the map to play on. However, instead of the map, it opened up to a view of a rather Maroon-Colored Galaxy, filled to the brim with stars and other such things. Suddenly I was floating out of it, and shortly after leaving it for the outer space, I saw something that looked like remnants of Installation 04. Only, it didn't look completely like it, for instead of being in the shape of a circle, it was more of a softly defined bar or rectangle. Also, it was destroyed like it was after H:CE, but the pieces that were broken off from the main piece didn't seem to stray far from the wreckage that was left. What makes this all fascinating is that although it was no where near the size it was supposed to be in the games, it was still rather enormous and I was feeling rather scared to approach it as I began to fly near it.

To it's left was another ring, however if was further off. This one actually looked a Helleva' lot closer to what they actually look like, but it wasn't as big as it's supposed to be either.

Last thing I'd like to mention about all this though, is that after running into the first two rings, I was suddenly pulled to a much larger object that quickly appeared beneath both rings. It was almost like it was "revealed" by a bunch of space clouds that hung below the other two rings and aside from being scared poopless before-hand with my previous encounters, it wasn't helping the least bit.

Once everything cleared out, what was left was a massive Ark-like Structure that almost dwarfed the first two installations. Suddenly (again...) I was pulled to it, only the rate and direction that I was traveling in made it almost seem like I was falling into the middle of that plate thing.

As I kept falling, the Ark Plate (I'll call it that to save me some time) almost came off like it was enveloping me because it's size. However my rate of descent gradually slowed until I came to a complete halt into what I assumed was the center of this thing. It was a serene, yet misty space that had floating pieces and what-not hanging still in mid-air, like someone was making something in Forge and left to go do something else, yet never came back to finish the job.

What they had left wasn't that bad looking, but at the same time it looked like something you wouldn't play typical slayer games on. Felt more like a monument of sorts or just a attempt at making symmetrical environments. Sounded like there was waterfalls nearby, but you couldn't see them to begin with considering how damn misty it was.*

*What I remember of the dream ends there. I'd honestly forgotten about it 'till now when I spontaneously recalled it from a fluke chance that we all seem to have now and again. The only thing that gets me about the whole damn experience is that although it was Halo related, I couldn't tell you if it some sort of influence from one title or just a collaborative effort from all of 'em. Also, I really haven't Forged since Reach sprang on the scene and that's got me a bit concerned as well.

(Wouldn't it be nice though to actually Forge on any Installation of your choosing, despite it's impossibility of ever coming life, though?)
