What about a discussion thread dedicated to the Chief in all his awesomeness? If there isn't one already (in which case just close this one).

I was a question to start off the convo, how do you think the Chief felt leaving all his brothers and sisters, his "family" for crying out loud, behind? He was probably pissed at the Covenant and most likely swore a personal oath to never leave another comrade behind again. That is what I would do if I were him, honor the fallen.

Are you talking about his genetic family or his fellow Spartans, because Spartans forgot completely about their genetic family sometime during training.

No, the SPARTANs, Dr Halsey, ...everyone involved really. He looked up to Halsey like a friggen mom.

He did get really upset when his fellow spartan's died, it tore him apart. But as their Leader, he couldn't show any immotional outbursts. I'm sure if i was one of the spartans under his command and he just started crying, i wouldn't really trust his judgement.

Spartans are spose to be trained to not show emotion. Such as when Emile states that jorge forgets WHAT he is sometimes, when helping the woman.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Master Chief is a beast and felt a lot of physical and mental pain throughout his whole life. That's what makes him special, though. Why? Because he went through all that pain, but I doubt he'd have it any other when. (I don't mean the Spartans death, but his training and leaving his genetic family and whatnot.)

That's what ONI expected, but Halsey knew better than that.
