Ok now i got Driv3r befor reading all the reviews and playing it to find it a very hard game but quite fun and entertaining. I was shocked to see when oxm had stated that it was a waste of money. i think it was an absolute great game and i cant wait for driver 4 (judging by the ending i presume theres gonna be another). anyway all those people out there that dont like driv3r id like to know why, oh and i'll add a poll. but i prefer you to post an answer and why.

I hated it. It was a let down, in my opinion. I was looking forward to it, and the developer screwed myself, and a lot of other fans over.

Heres why...

The out-of-car sections are just horrible. Nasty controls, and the animation is terrible as well-Tanner looks like he is ice-skating constantly.

The enemy AI is absolutely terrible. They just stand there, and shoot. There is the odd roll, but that is about as challenging as the enemies are going to get in this game.

The gameplay is so channelled there is no flexibility with which to amend your mistakes. If you fall behind a car you are tailing, and you take a shortcut to catch up, you fail the mission.

You can't save checkpoints, meaning you have to play until you complete a level.

Flee then chase then flee then chase dynamic. Gets boring real quick.

There are many many more. Here are some far better uses for the Driver 3 disc.

-A coaster
-A fun frisbee
-A tool for reflecting sunlight onto ants
-A device for scaring birds away from crops
-A weapon
-A gift for your worst enemy

i did say why you think its crap because i don't know, i think its a great game so why dont you like it, whats it missing etc

(edit): well for me the controlls are great, well better than true crime anyway, are you saying the enemies just stand there in undercover or take a ride cause i always use the cheats for undercover, and there quite hard on undercover. you have some good reasons but i really dont see those reasons meaning the game is a let down, oh well it only our opinions, but you have to say its better that true crime, unlike oxm where it said true crime was light years ahead of driv3r i almost jumped though the roof at the though.

It's missing the innovation. The Driver series, One and Two, were exciting and open ended. But that formula would have had to be built on more than adding the ability to walk and calling it innovative. How many years has it been since the last Driver?

And the game has barely changed.

I think my list is quite conclusive Dragon X. I will tell you what it is missing-

-AI
-Fun
-Fun
-Good controls
-Good animation
-A story that is easily accessible
-Development
-Beta testing (or any kind of playtesting)

Handling movement. The config is OK, but moving is very very difficult

That and Atari properbly released the game before they had finished it.

so many glitches, for a game the size that driv3r is and the amount of glitches there is is an incredible job. if you want to see a game with glitches play true crime, thats like the glitch game of the year.

Point 1-It is not about the amount of glitches, it is about how severe they are. Halo has many, MANY glitches, but they are not game ruining ones. In many cases they add an interestin new angle to the game. The glitches in Driver 3 destroy any chance of fun.

Point 2-Many games are big, some bigger than Driver 3 (GTA, Half-Life, etc). These games do not have lots of game ruining glitches.

Point 3-True Crime was an OK game, I enjoyed it. Good soundtrack (not that I am into all that rap stuff, it just fitted the game perfectly), and the multiple storylines were interesting as well.

Atari has lost all of my respect. I brought Shadow Ops:Red Mercury and Driv3r, 40 pounds each, and they were awful games. Enter the Matrix in no way lived up to its hype. Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines was so bad, and disappointing, it made me want to cry.

Driver 3 and T3:ROTM are two of the worst games I have EVER played-Thats saying something, I have been playing videogames for a long time. But, if you like it Dragon X, all the best, enjoy the game. Opinions are like noses, as they say.

took the words right out of my mouth, you forgot how buildings and cars pop out of no where. We get 3 huge cities to go around in for what, tkae a ride is more boring than the story line. all that hype and we get a driver 3 that is shocking, i enjoyed driver 1 and 2 better. The oxm was right, the aus one gave it 5.5 and it should hav been lucky to get a 5.
