Some people say you have one shot at love I say you just have to reload.

Sigma

I hope they keep some funny line form the grunt and put everything that they have learned from the community of Halo and not mess up this but I belive this is going to make a realy good remake.

William C.

I will only buy it if they don't blam up the origional gameplay. The minute I see the new weapons, enemies, armor abilities, etc, I will NOT buy it.

I'm excited actually. Maybe a FEW gameplay tweaks like more than 3-shot kill magnum and no vehicle touch-of-death.

  • 04.03.2011 7:19 PM PDT

As long as they include Pelicans (maybe even add more vehicles) I'd definitely buy it.

if they add new vehicles then it wont have the same gameplay and if they just add it into multiplayer then it would be fine other than that they better not -blam!- it up

There's no replacement for displacement.

For those of you doubting the rumors you need to connect the dots. 343 needs to keep the halo community alive until they release halo 4 so they are going to release halo ce in hd on the 15th of november this year. it is to celebrate the anniversary of the original game. i have heard that the game will cost 40$ or less usd and that no online gameplay will be available except co op campaign. not sure about firefight.

None of that makes any sense. They wouldn't do it if they weren't going to make online multiplayer with it. (In my opinion)

Connect the dots...

1. 343 said they have no games to announce at the moment
2. They are hiring employees to work on new game
3. 343 are the only ones who are going to make a Halo game (not Timeshift developer)
4. There have been no official news about this
5. Why would they rush a game out to meet a November 15th deadline?
6. How long to you think it takes to build a game, have testing, and manufacture the discs and game cases?

"This being the 10th anniversary of Halo, O'Connor also confirmed that 343 Industries will continue supporting existing Halo games with new content and multiplayer promotions throughout the year, and that FPS bookworms can expect three new Halo novels. He also stated that Bungie will continue to lend its own support to Halo: Reach in much the same fashion it has done up until now.

"Bungie's committed to supporting Halo: Reach for the foreseeable future ... It's signed up to build at least three new maps, as it revealed not too long ago, but you can bet that it'll continue to support the community it's been joined at the hip with for such a long time now," said O'Connor. "

"The number one thing we've been asked for over the last ten years was the Grunt plushie. We've been pushing that off because it's crazy but the fans wanted that. We're probably going to do one this year because it's the 10th anniversary but no matter what, if you make it because there's demand and you stay true to what's good about Halo - in this case that Grunt plushie has to be funny - then you're going to have a happy audience."

Hope that plushie is enough to keep you happy. It's going to be funny when all these people attack 343 Industries for not giving them the Halo HD that they didn't even promise them.

I'm sure 343 will be like "lolwut?..."

343 has had PLENTY of time to work on the remake... at least since Bungie started on Reach... They won't have to rush the game because it has already been in development for awhile... what do you think 343 has been doing since it's creation in 2007? They released Halo Wars and Waypoint... and that's it... what have all those developers been doing since then? Making a remake, duh.

Yeah, Hitboxing = fail. For example, a certan user from the maw who has never played Halo 2 Xbox online links to this halo 2 bash video (its much less exreme in acutial gameplay) which shows hitboxing, but it also exists in halo 3, which also has unbalanced weps and n00b armor (recon).

I'm probably wrong about this, but wouldn't they technically only have to port the game over to the new game engine? I agree with you, either way.

I doubt it. So far there has been NOTHING but rumors about a remake. Not one thing confirmed. Also no game developer would announce a game less than seven months from releasing it. Least of all if the game was a Halo. Doesn't matter if it was a remake, AAA title, low budget indie or whatever. Not enough time to stir up interest and promote it.

"343 needs to keep the halo community alive until they release halo 4"
Halo games generally go three years between releases and Reach came out last year. Odds are stacked against this remake comming out this year.

They didn't make Halo Wars. Since 2007 they've been doing the 4 or 5 new books, legends and the other non game related material thats come out since then. Also it takes time for a new company to gather the resources and talent that a studio needs for AAA titles and a recent interview from Frank O'Conner says they don't have anything to announce right now. Besides, most of the rumors say a different developer will be doing the remake, not 343 like how they didn't make the last Reach DLC themselves but oversaw it.

Just clarifying for others, 343 said they are the only ones who will make AAA Halo titles. The part about the Timeshift developer making the Halo remake just makes the rumors seem more unlikely.

It's WAY more complicated then copy/pasting the game into a different engine. I think they should re-release Halo CE on the arcade with online co-op and multiplayer. Bungie have already said implementing this would take a lot of time to rewrite the code so if 343 HAVE been working on it early then maybe It's possible. I'd be pretty satisfied with this.

I never said 343 made Halo Wars, I said that they released it. There's a difference, my friend. They were there, backing Ensemble Studios up, making sure that the story they told was indeed Halo Canon. Yes, they have released many books since then. But that's not what the developers have been doing. Of course Frank isn't going to announce anything right now... what do you think E3 is for? It would be anticlimactic for them to announce a new Halo title now when E3 is less than two months away...

If they did this then it would be the Halo Arcade re-release that I want so badly (with online added). That's the only way I could see them keeping it under wraps for so long and not promoting the hell out of it.

It would be epic, that's for sure. I really don't think they're too worried about promoting it early on... I mean, look at all the rumors out there. It's obvious that a remake is in high demand. Once it is announced at E3, there will be enough time between then and November to get people pumped for it. Plus, Christmas sales are going to be crazy.

For God's sake if they do remake it don't -blam!- with any of the balances or weapon power. It would be ruined if you couldn't own alien bastards with your pistol and shred flood with your AR anymore. Damn you Sage Damn you and your balanced sandbox....

I'm not sure they had anything to do with Halo Wars. I was a regular member of Ensembles Halo Wars forums and there was never any mention of 343. The developers often talked about going to Bungies office for advice and to keep them in the loop on the story but nothing was ever said about 343. I didn't even know they were around back then.

That's why I am only interested in a Halo CE re-release with online co-op and multiplayer. Maybe some slight additions like being able to swap weps with marines and kick marines out of the warthog like the other Halos. (Although I don't think a re-release will happen)
