I think they should leave campaign totally alone accept for graphics redo and possibly vehicle physics. Multiplayer will obviously keep all the original maps including those on pc, maybe even include some created with custom edition.
unfortunately I don't think the original weapons in Multiplayer will be enough for a modern FPS. The following are the original weapons (brackets=PC version):
pistol, AR, shotgun, rockets, sniper, plasma pistol, plasma rifle, needler, (fuel rod), (flamethrower)
I suggest we add BR, laser, brute shot and possible some sort of tracking explosive (missile pod?). Discuss carbine aswell. sword is already in CE just not usable by humans so lets make it usable. Turrets may be useful aswell but this raises the issue if they are portable and if they are does the flamethrower come under this catergory like in halo 3 or is it a normal weapon like in halo PC? What could also work is the SMG from halo 3 ODST...discuss.
The original vehicles in MM are warthog, (rocket hog), ghost, (banshee) and Tank. I think we should add wraith, gauss hog, mongoose, hornet and maybe falcon. discuss sceptre aswell.
I personally don't want amour abilities. If equipment like in Halo 3 can be successfully integrated then I wouldn't mind that, otherwise I also don't mind. please discuss armour abilities and equipment though.
I think 343 could make some new maps aswell but here's what I suggest. They can make a huge forgable map with different land scapes and many items of different design e.g. forerunner ruin, forerunner structure, human, covenant, natural. within that 343 can make a few of their own forged maps that count as the new ones.
Now for the ranking system. I suggest something similar to Halo 3 where you have Highest skill and EXP, accept there are some significant changes. Firstly true skill is calculate not only from wins and loses but also from how you played in game, that way if your team looses but you played well you don't go down (might even go up) and it also prevents boosting. Obviously wining will play a large factor since that is primarily why we play. EXP will not be like in Halo 3 but more like cR from Halo Reach. You will earn it the same way at the end of every game but probably not from campaign, only multiplayer. The ranks require true skill like in Halo 3 and cR...but with a slight twist. you need true skill between 1-50 for ranks up to general. After that you only go up in rank by earning cR. The ranks after general will go up to Inheritor (like in Reach) or something similar. you have to have a 50 to get to those ranks though. This is a good system in my opinion because it harnesses skill like it did in halo 3 but also means people will still have ranks to acquire even after reaching general.
The playlists will be ranked and social. Ranked will include:
lone wolves
team doubles
team slayer
squad battle
team swat
team objective
MLG
Team snipers (maybe)
social playlists:
same as above (not ranked though and called something different)
multiteam
living dead(maybe)
Obviously these are just what I suggest and 343 can do what they think best. maybe some sort of double EXP weekend can be remade. discuss.
I would prefer not to have Firefight but that's my opinion so please discuss this. Forge I mentioned before. Theatre should be include and it should be able to take more than 1 person in the party. Armour can be unlocked similar to Halo Reach. scoring can be activated for campaign.
A few more things are if we can put skulls/data pads in the campaign. I know I said keep everything the same but this is hardly anything since it will be hidden and you won't see it unless your looking for it. it could include an interesting side story...maybe something to do with De Sylva,McKay and the rest of the ODSTs from Halo: The Flood. discuss.
I think I have covered everything. Please discuss what you think and mention what changes you would like and why. It would be really interesting to see what others think.
