You're awesome Bungie, and so is Reach. But "Birthday Party" is the worst thing to ever happen to Halo. Please at least give those of us who can't stand it the ability to mute it or turn it off.

I've come to REALLY love playing firefight with one of my friends that lives close (very little latency.) And it's awesome that you guys have been looking into ways to improve it. BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HALO DO NOT ENABLE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! I know a lot of people like it, but there's a lot of people who can't stand it.

A couple of "yays" is no big deal, but between Halo 3, ODST (my friends would always have it on because it damaged everything around the grunt that exploded) and now having to hear it ALL THE TIME in match making, I've had to listen to that god damn sound THOUSANDS OF TIMES!!

It's the sound Bungie, the sound itself. The confetti is a little silly, but constantly hearing that sound completely "takes me out of the game." There's gunfire, explosions, Spartans and aliens dying all around me, and in complete contrast to that a "YAAAYYY" sound. I can't stand playing grunt apocalypse, and it almost ruins the entire matchmaking experience for me.

Forgive me, for sounding a little extreme here, but I just really love Halo. It's the best way I have for spending time with friends all around the country. I've made several threads about how nice it would be to just have the option to mute that sound. But I feel like they went unnoticed.

Please, please, just give us to option to mute Birthday party or turn it off. I would really like to play firefight Arcade, but if birthday party is enabled on EVERY gametype, I will not be playing it.

You're awesome Bungie, I love SO MANY things about Reach, just not this. (And not having VIP or any way to race a team of more than 2 players around a map, but that's another story. . . edit: wait?! ROCKET HOG RACE! . . .YEEEESSSS!!)

I wear the cheese, it does not wear me.

This account is now retired due to WLID changing. Webteam needs to fix that, seriously >.>

That was a truly great update, i'm looking forward to all the matchmaking updates and those card submissions shown were all epic. I especially liked the moa one, survival spree and "please remain hungry" XD

If bungie ever makes an old school rpg there NEEDS to be a SI with a large fork and a cake hat in it.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

When do the playlist changes go Live? I love the fact that Multi team is going back Halo 2 style.

Regarding the new B.net mobile features:

It's great that these features are available, but they don't seem to work on Windows 7 Phones. I'm on the HTC HD7 and I'm having a few problems...

I'm getting the same here so it's not a one off... Shame really because it looks good but just can't access any of the usable bits and yes I'm using a HD7 as well.

Hello! I'm a male!

Way to ruin Firefight and Multi Team.

We have been raised for combat...
We carry our banner to our fights...
Alone we are a menace, together we are a threat...
Born to raise hell, live to drop back in it...
Never retreat, never surrender... we are spartans.

These updates will DEFINATLY go well apreciated!
:)

Thanks Bungie.

Also: I like the last card submission.
"Retrieve the package Spartan."
LOL

You look unto me now through the profile screen found at http://www.bungie.net/Account/Profile.aspx. Here we are, mutually faceless, both ones in the Seventh.

Great update.

Never enough Grifball!
Objective SWAT sounds fun.

Congratulation on the VES Award, you deserved it. Halo: Reach has probably the best real-time special effects of all the big games released on 2010.

Besides you seem to have quite enjoyed your time wearing tuxedos hehe, and hanging out with Chris Nolan was fun too I supposed.

"I agree OP. I, too, love feeling superior to others and enjoy the sensation of belonging to an imaginary elitist group on the internet."

Why not update FireFight Arcade immediately? I mean, it's pretty obvious that weapon pickup needs to go bye-bye.

Removal of Ammo Containers on Limited is generally considered a good idea, maybe not a no-brainer like Arcade.

New Marathon? Thanks Bungie!

great entries but some were too "punny" food fight one was my fav one

edit: forgot to congratulate for VES award fantastic job!

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Those birthday cards look really good.

  • 02.05.2011 10:24 PM PDT

Hey bungie, you love your community and we love you, how about you let us move around the camera during the cut scenes in theater mode just like in that video.

Not too stoked about the reduction of Multi Team teams from 6 to 4. It's not a bad thing, per se, but it'll be disappointing in the long run. At least I already got the Offensive Driver achievement, because I'm sure it'd be a lot weirder in Rocket Hog Race.

Firefight Arcade coming back made me feel giddy. I can't wait to spawncamp those clueless grunts in Corvette with an FRG again!... assuming we play FRGfight. Nah, but seriously. Can't wait to rack up those commendations. Weapon pickup was sort of useful in this mode, but not necessary. I often found myself only picking up another weapon to fulfill a Daily Challenge... never had much trouble with FRG spammers in Sniperfight because there are multiple enemy spawnpoints to watch over. I pick an unmanned location.

Bro Slayer will be sweet. Now we can get Spawn Sprees in modes other than Invasion. Invasion Skirmish is gonna be awesome too, I've been waiting to bust some Elite skulls on a small map as a Spartan.

Objective games on SWAT will be kind of strange, seeing as you can always kill the objective holder with one shot. Being the Oddball holder will feel kind of like playing Infection as a zombie, but without Evade or a sword. Skill will definitely apply greatly. It would probably feel a lot more fair if you were to *AHEM* fix the bloom on the DMR... just sayin'.

Proud tester of the Halo 3 beta.

Lovin' these contests, always makes my day a little bit better. Nice update as always.

Nobody should be banned for honest and proper criticism/opinion, or banned under a double standard/bias. Please exercise and defend your constitutionally and naturally protected rights, such as freedom of speech and the ability to challenge unjustifiable rule enforcement, no one else will do it for you. Thank you.

If you want to tell me I'm wrong, please prepare to tell me with logic.

Still no classic playlist announcement.

Another update with a bunch of random pictures and -blam!- a lot of us concerned fans don't really care about.

Still no recognition from Bungie that they plan to acknowledge more than one general consensus.

Not sure how many more updates I should give Bungie or how long I should way before I sell the disc and go back to Halo 3 permanently.

Not trying to troll or anything, just saying. This is a serious concern for many of us that has created many threads. It doesn't really warrant flames, I mean this in a serious manner with an optimistic outlook. My once favorite game developer ever has turned into a group that picks and chooses who they think is the most important group for feedback and fails to even hear out the rest. I understand there's a lot of people to listen to, but that doesn't justify this case, where they've taken the time to create more than one other Firefight playlist which gets nowhere near as much population as the main one and completely overlook our wants. It clearly demonstrates that the "busy" hooplah is-PROPOGANDA, and we continue to be lied to everyday, while endorsement organizations like MLG get their -blam!- in right away.

I'm seriously and legitimately concerned about where this is going.

  • 02.06.2011 1:32 PM PDT

All the updates sound fantastic and When are we going to see community invasion/btb/infection?

  • 02.06.2011 2:17 PM PDT

You unlock this door with the key of inebriation. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of gingers, a dimension of drunks, a dimension of Lucky Charms. You're moving into a land of both beer and potatoes, of marshmallows and leprechauns. You've just crossed over into... the Shamrock Zone.

GT: Agent Shamrock

Invasion Skirmish sounds interesting

I have a question for one of the employee's, will we be seeing any new form of DLC in the near future? That would be awesome!

  • 02.06.2011 2:29 PM PDT

reach has becoome the -blam!-est game so far..... i mean get banned from matchmaking cuz some dude got in my way when i shot....and booted me for betrayal..... its bull-blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- -blam!-

Oh, and "Im here!"

  • 02.06.2011 9:45 PM PDT

I don't necessarily mean to put you guys down after your recent achievement, but it brings up a topic in which I'd like to share my opinion. Yes Halo: Reach looks great, but the Frame Rate suffers greatly for it. I was, quite frankly, alarmed at how often and how low the frame rate dipped during Halo: Reach's campaign. I find it most noticeable on the level Nightfall where you're given a sniper and plenty of ammo. Unfortunately there are several locations where the sniper simply cannot be used due to the severe drop in frame rate. The second comment I'd like to make is concerning the Film Grain. Why was it necessary to put Film Grain in Halo: Reach? In my opinion, it greatly hurts the experience and it's not in line with past Halo games. That's all I'd like to share. I hope you have a good day.
