Subject: Playing Halo in Orchestra

So I was sitting in orchestra attempting to appear casual while thinking wildly of things to talk about to my stand partner who is not arguably the hottest girl in school [as in there is no denying that she is]. Anyway, we were passing out new music and I'm thinking, well besides of things to talk about,"Oh great, more Tchaikovsky [I'm not hatin', he's my favorite, but it does get old]," but then I see "Halo theme song by Video Games Live." Immediately I get a halfie and try to hide my excitement. As we pick up our bows, I'm hyperventilating, eyes wide and mouth agape.

Most of that stuff didn't happen. It was just for effect. I'm not that awkward...as far as you know. The song was actually pretty faithful, with a few things aggravating me, especially when the heretics play it wrong. How dare this be the first time they've heard this song. Then my stand-partner said,"I don't really care for this song" and all hell went loose. I turned into Smeagle, contemplating to kill her as slowly and painfully as possible. Just kidding...

So, have you all played any Halo songs in your music program[s]?

Forget Halo. Forget the song. Bang the girl.

I arranged a Halo theme suite for my college orchestra before. It never saw the light of day but it was a fun exercise.
