Yay, another one....

On LNoS, Seraphs are attacking the launch facility, why?

Seraphs were made for space combat, not atmospheric. And also, why are they not vulnerable to missiles?

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

You don't need to point out plot inconsistencies anymore, the Halo games have been full of them since Halo 3.

QFT.

Although Reach sure left a steaming pile of blammite where canon once sat.

While intended mainly for space combat, they can be used in atmosphere. The longsword (its closest human counterpart) fighter is a space fighter, but also operational in atmosphere.

lol this isnt an inconsistencie in halo 2 the seraph was in the facility that wasnt in space. they can be used for ground wars

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

It's not an inconsistency, Serpahs are more than capable in operating on a planet, they are just a little more sluggish. Seraphs took part in the battle of Pegasi Delta and the battle of Onyx.

Their Shields deflect missiles. Also, they are capable of bombing runs, which can work against orbital stations.

Technically, this can be considered an inconsistancy. In TFoR, Seraphs peel off of an attack run on Red Team's Pelican because they could not break atmosphere.

Granted, I know this was disregarded almost immediately, but if I remember right, it's still in the retconned TFoR.

I mean, if Seraphs can break atmosphere, then Red Team should have been dead before they even hit the ground.

Hey.

I believe the seraphs pull off in TFOR because of the unfavourable descent angle, as the craft was not primarily designed for flight in atmosphere, but is capable of it. Want more proof, look no further:

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

In Ghosts of Onyx they had Seraphs attacking Spartans that were on the planet's surface as if they were aircraft in the U.S. military today.

Ghosts of Onyx would like to have a word with you.

Seraphs are the covenants bombers. Why not use them to attack a base? I mean, plasma bomb + base = Destroyed base.

  • 02.06.2011 10:26 AM PDT

Seraphs have always been the Covenant equivalent of the Longsword Fighter, which is fully capable of atmospheric and space combat, and as other people have been pointing out, the later books have them flying in atmosphere. And a lot of the little things in TFoR have slowly been retconned over the 10 years it's been out, such as Grunts and Jackels not being encountered in the war until nearer the end.
