I live in the USA and I am looking to buy Halo: Combat Evolved for the Mac, However all of the ones I have found were more than $100. I live in the USA, is there any stores that sells them for the Mac?

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

No retail stores carry Halo Mac anymore. Ebay usually has copies for around $100. If you wanted to game, you chose the wrong platform.

I have both a Mac and PC but I prefer using the Mac, I guess I will just have to play on the PC.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Macs are good if you intend to use them as paperweights...otherwise they are junk.

No

Macs can run every major OS (yes Windows, Linux and of coarse Mac OS), plus, they are the computer of choice of all reputable audio, video and design artists... even Marty O'Donnell.... Oh and NO VIRI so no antivirus is needed at all :)

Now, back to the topic at hand, search the interwebz for the mac version, its not for sale anymore but it is out there and up for grabs. BUT, if what you want is online play, I suggest you use the windows version instead.

People probably still believe that Photoshop actually runs faster on a Mac.

Secondly, security through obscurity.

A PC that uses overpriced proprietary hardware. How fun!

If by "overpriced" you mean more bundled software, higher grade materials rather than cheap plastic crap, not an outdated OS, more organized OS, and no viruses, then OK. Macs are superior in every way except software compatibility and slightly lower specs (which aren't really necessary anyway since you won't be gaming).

Read up.

Biased article is biased. Fact is, I'm not about to overpay by hundreds when I can build something better for less.

Pro: Quality That Lasts

I almost stopped reading right there. My old school had broken iBooks, eMacs with bad caps, iMac G3s with clicking HDDs (and one with a fried psu). Quality my ass.

Oh, and

For low-end PCs, manufacturers achieve their lower prices by using low-quality components-and you need to watch very carefully in order to tell the difference.

The CPU in a budget PC might still have the Intel (INTC) name, but CPUs such as an AMD (AMD), Intel Celeron, or single-core processors will not be as failure-proof or future-proof as their midlevel counterparts.

Did he even do his research? Low end CPUS =/= bad quality. They are slower, but not bad quality...Motherboards and PSUs fail more then CPUs do.

One thing you can always count on with Apple is the highest-quality components. The computer maker doesn't even try to compete in the low-end market, because it knows its customers will only suffer in the long run.

From someone who used to use macs on a daily basis at school, I disagree. Apple doesn't use standard components like most computers.

The author was trying to find a reason for blowing $1000 on a $400 low end laptop.

Relevant.

Overpay? No thank you. You can go on about "cheap parts" and whatnot, but I've never seen any hard evidence of that.

Going to chime in again and point out that the graphics card actually works out at around $350, not $200. You're adding $200 on the total price and losing the standard card, valued at $150 on their chart.

Either way, macs are bad. And let's not forget this.

Quite a few emacs at my old school failed due to bad capaciators (an issue that affects consoles as well). Just goes to prove that macs aren't 100% reliable like apples fail ads and their dronesh fanboys make them out to be.

My family had a 10 year old iMac being used regularly that just died earlier last year. And we also have a 2005 iBook that never crashed once and is still in use. All the people I know who bought a Mac have had it for at least 5+ years. I'm betting the kids weren't very nice to the computers.

Yes, yes they do. I can't speak for anything other than Dell or HP, but computers under those brands use cheap plastic grade materials. IE, Dell uses plastic touchpads, Macs use burnt glass. Dell uses multiple pieces for the shell, Mac uses only a single sheet that wraps around the whole computer.

And did I mention Apple's customer support?

If you're a PC gamer, you know how to manage your computer, inside and out. The quality of customer support is generally a moot point for us.

Well, if it can be solved with a Google search, most Mac customers will do so. Customer support is mostly for things like getting sold faulty hardware, and such. It's helpful to not have to wade though countless of customer support calls to annoyed people from India, if you catch my drift.

Also, somewhat relevant

Alright, so check this out. See, there's the header, it says Clock, Language, and Region, right? And then there's some stuff about changing a keyboard, right? What could it possibly mean? What would a keyboard have to do with a language setting? Stupid, right? Until you freakin' click it and it takes you to a menu where you change the damn default input language of your damn keyboard.

Make another post showcasing your ignorance. Please. It's funny to watch.

Apple had to recall the emacs, due to the fact they were having bad caps. Apple doesn't make super reliable PCs. And don't get me started on their MP3 players.

Multiple pieces are better and more repairable. They use them for a reason. My HP DV6Z also has an allunium body, so not all PC laptops are "cheap plastic", only the cheap acer laptops are.

Apple support is also indian too, last time my skype friends prank called em, they obviously had that accent.

Also, somewhat somehow relevant.

In keyboard language settings, it also has main PC language settings and locales.

Well that sounds pretty icky. I never had any experience with an eMac, but I can assure you that was not the case with any other Mac computer since 2000. And I'm sure HP or Dell has had a few mishaps in their time, it doesn't seem fair to call a company out on one incident.

That HP computer you mentioned appears to be around $1,200 according to Google, which is the same price as a MacBook. At that price, no computer will be using cheap materials. If you have any proof that Macs use bad external hardware, I'd like a link.

I was just kidding about the Indian part. Also, warranty and repair compensation fall under customer support too, which Apple does very nicely.

The point was that it was somewhat misleading. "Change keyboard and other input methods" Is an interesting way of saying "Alter input and display languages". I'd go check how OSX words in comparison right now if I could.

What do you know, one of the only posts in the thread that actually pertains the topic.
