Why does everyone love Cryptum so much? I know that it takes place during the Forerunners rule and all that, but why is it sooooooo amazing?

I've read up to Chapter 20. I'm not impressed. In fact, I find it hard to read because it's very disinteresting. Nothing exciting happens. It seems like a let down, so far. I hope the story picks up.
I appreciate you have an opinion and all that crap, but Cryptum is the best Halo novel yet, it blows Ghosts of Onyx and Contact Harvest out of the water.
not everything is about the explosions and action.
There is two fight scenes in Cryptum. In both cases, Armageddon befalls a planet, exterminating all life and destroying the world (13 times if you count the Halo Rings, in which case Armageddon hits 12 times in one battle).
The rest of the story--the actual story--is about mystery, intrigue and character.
While the action scenes are always good to read and very well written, the primary focus is the story. That's why its so good; because it wasn't overdone with the action, which I kinda thought TFoR was.
