Yes, it would seem that interplanetary contact would be limited to civilans. However, I'm sure the UNSC told them they couldn't go to certain worlds because "It wasn't safe to leave your home world", instead of just telling them that the planet had been destroyed. Though I'm sure they told them after Reach fell.

Too my research, ONI observed ALL messages sent to Earth, and modified them aside from those sent to the UNSC forces, fact.

It's not surprising. I would think ONI would do anything to further push the idea that they were winning. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that information?

I have a few official books that describe the life of an average human on Earth during the war.

Hmm...anything that hasn't already been added to the thread that you could share?

I mentioned a few things earlier that still aren't up there. Let me take a look at the book...

Alright, so apparently it became illegal to have a son that didn't serve in the armed forces aside from Deformed, Blind or Deaf.

Vehicles were mass produced by two car companies that rivaled, either using Electric power or Hydrogen.

I'll put more later.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I'm sorry I don't have anything to contribute, but I'd like to ask something. In terms of a Superintendant AI being in charge of a city, how would it do so?

I know that it communicated with the Rookie, but are people able to communicate with the Superintendant? And when I say people, I mean people that might have just moved to said city and not know much about it. How would they be able to contact the Superintendant? Or would there be a human way of doing this? Would there be someone you could talk to that would pass your queries over to the AI?

Another question, would the AI be in charge of the defense/police/rescue forces? Say, if people were able to make contact with the AI using some sort of civilian device, and quickly inform it of a situation like a bank robbery or someone being injured, the AI would be able to send out the necessary unit required for the situation. Would that be a faster method of just having the emergency number go to an operator, then to the required station? (Also, I would imagine the AI would be able to identify the civilian through their device, be it a chatter or something, saving time by not having to communicate with the civilian and ask of their whereabouts/identity.)

Sorry for long post, but this thread really got me thinking.

Posted by: OfTheBloodguardDon't apologize for a long post, they keep threads interesting.

In Sadie's Story, we see Sadie talking to New Mombasa's AI, called "Vergil". Vergil was constructed by her father to oversee the city, but he also built a subroutine into it to keep an eye on Sadie. When Vergil stops the train, she says to him "Vergil, turn this train around now". And a man next to her says, "What are you doin', crazy lady, talking to the train?" It would seem that the average person may not even know that they can communicate with the AI.

But seeing that Vergil was able to monitor all cars in the city, every citizen in the city (The police officer Mike even states "Helped me track down a speeder last month") Vergil also controlled garbage pickup and sanitary work too. Seeing that Vergil monitored sanitation, traffic, trains, harbor traffic and the police, I really don't think it's that farfetched to say that city AI watched over nearly everything in the city, maybe even to the extent of invasion of privacy, with access to everything about a civilian that could be accessed.

Civilians were lied to saying that due to Covenant damage they couldn't travel to the outer colonies for a few months when in reality the planets were glassed, years passed and riots began, eventually leading to a mass populations on Mars and Titan due to high demand of leaving Earth.

Civilians on Mars were not attacked by the Covenant, no relics were on the planet, thus no point, although they witnesses the Covenant fleet pass them and watched Earth fall in horror, Propaganda was told to them that Earth is finishing off the last of the Covenant, stating the Ark portal was actually a NOVA bomb that sucked in all the Covenant forces.

Posted by: mojeda101I suppose it's also safe to assume that civilians never find out about the Halos or the Flood? I wonder if they're ever told about the human-Elite alliance. Furthermore I wouldn't be surprised if the UNSC disbanded after the war. After 30 years of being lied to I bet society wanted them gone.

Of course not! Not even Admirals knew about either, Flood would scare the population to mass suicide thinking they would be taken over by a form, the Halo's stayed top secret by ONI I'm sure, and the Elites I'm sure did say something, such as the Elites in the other parts of the world, they told them not to attack the Elites anymore or such, isn't mentioned in my book.

Where are you getting that information from? I have never heard that even as I know pretty much about Halo lore. Also, civilians shouldn't even know about NOVA bomb as it was first time used over Joyous Exultation. Civilians couldn't have heard of it because there was nobody who witnessed the explosion who would have survived.

Countless survivors witnessed it over Reach, word spread, eventually ONI had to tell them it was their defense against the Covenant that could "Obliterate an entire armada in a split second." Cortana was going to use one on High Charity but was denied due to the UNSC needing them, which they never did.

I'm with tsassi on this. Where did you get that information from? There has been only one Nova bomb going off so far in canon and that's the one that blew the Joyous Exultation forces away. There was mention of Cortana requesting for Delta Halo to be Nova bomb'd but there was no further mention as to whether or not the request was granted. Given that High Charity came to Earth (and subsequently the Ark) just fine and that Delta Halo was still intact in the Ark communication room's display shows that indeed, there was no successful Nova deployment there.

Furthermore your assertions that Mars is never attacked is rather amusing because canon directly states that it was attacked, and fell to Brute forces with Ackerson being one of the key UNSC personnel of note to be among the forces there.

all the propoganda and drafting was done because if the population knew the truth about the war well we wouldn't of lasted as long as we did. also the UNSC needs every one it can get to fight the covenant probably just to replace the losses from the covenant.

Better have a marine with a gun instead of a civilian running around the streets in panic.

It seems more likely that at some point, Chrysler merged with GMC and formed TurboGen, Seeing that the Spade's logo is eerily reminiscent to that of the Dodge Ram. Not only that, but it would seem that TurboGen probably makes Warthogs, only because the Spade seems to run the same as far as maneuvering capability and engine power and all that.(Drive a Spade then drive a Warthog, they're very similar) And seeing that the Warthog is a likely descendant of the Jeep, a Chrysler-GMC descendant seems even more likely.
