Subject: I Believe ODST was the best Halo to date.

G-Bread

It, to me, had the most fun campaign, the greatest story, an amazing co op mode, and huge open world, and the best music I've ever heard. Does anyone agree with me?

I just play for fun. MLG can kiss my ass.

I liked the music, but after I got all the audiologs the campaign just didn't feel special anymore, and I hated going through the same area multiple times.

I agree completely. The campaign and characters were awesome, and it had a unique story telling system with the whole "wander around New Mombasa at night and find things your teammates left behind from that day."

Too bad it couldn't be a full fledged 3-year Halo game with dedicated MM or just a longer campaign.

yes it was great and fun BUT THE MULTIPLAYER SUCKED ASS. I had to say it. They multiplayer was firefight with no matchmaking?!?!?! i was dissapoint.

one of the best. If it weren't so expensive, people would praise it a lot more :P

I wish it was more grand theft auto style...like as infinding squadrens of marines and covenant in a huge and i mean huge
(thats what she said) play area...with vehicle fights including warthogs and tanks...with halo reach assintions...and elites in the campign...that would perfect it...i hope to god and budha and tom cruise that they will remake Halo 3 ODST with Halo Reach Engine...PERFECTION!

Ugh.

I don't really think you can call one Halo the "best". They are all very different, and gave me many great memories.

Calling one of them the "best" would mean one is greater than another, and I just can't do that.

I love all the Halo games campaigns, but I like ODST's the best.

I'm agent Nahman Jayden, eff-bee-eye.

The campaign was 2 hours long...

I liked ODST overall but its gameplay was way to similar to the other Halo games. As the Rookie, you were given a seperate Stamina bar which functioned exactly like the shields from other games and a health bar underneath that. And the Rookie had the same strength as a Spartan as he could flip over Warthogs with ease. The Rookie may have lost the motion tracker but he gained a minimap in the pause menu and the VISR.

I wish that Bungie spent a bit more time on ODST and released it as a tactical shooter rather than a run and gun, Master Chief style FPS.

Cutter kills it

amazing story, firefight isnt as good as they built it up to be

  • 02.08.2011 5:36 PM PDT

It has some sort of special feeling to it. I don't know what it is. but everytime I play on Last Resort (the park one, I'm pretty sure that's what it's called) I just have a blast. It was not the best, but I don't have Live until a few months ago, and having Firefight was amazing because I had played the Halo 3 campaign sooo many times (never got bored either :P)

Yeah. It really had that feel of being alone in Mombasa, you were fighting in a desperate situation but it had try to remain calm feeling. Even though there was alot of comedy which would dismay most, I think it was pretty good. But the music just topped the gameplay all off. Espically, it was a great soundtrack.

No. In every sense of the word.

It did some things phenomenally. Atmosphere was brilliant in Mombasa Streets, overall pacing was good, and the story did get clever in places.

Other than that, I don't like it as much as the trilogy. The player character was way too tough (and shielded) to work for the supposed "vulnerability." The geometric design in combat areas was generally, dare I say, bad. Dialogue had some juicy depth in places but was often questionably executed on the surface.
Just in general, little bits and pieces of stylistic dissonance cropped up here and there.

It's still a very good campaign, but I would personally never elevate it even close to the level of HCE.

Same, I enjoyed the game a lot! But! I wouldn't say the best halo game ever.

  • 02.08.2011 6:40 PM PDT

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

ODST definitly had an awesome feeling, and story to it and the characters were excellent. (Although they HAD to make an arrogant character)I still wouldn't say that ODST was the best game, but it's absolutely worth a play through, or two.

  • 02.08.2011 6:51 PM PDT

My favorite part was seeing In Amber Clad fly up to Regrets ship.

  • 02.08.2011 9:10 PM PDT

i think all halo games are equal as they all have their ups and downs, so find ODST to be a great game. If firefight had had matchmaking as well, it would have been fantastic. btw, people exaggerate the price, i bought it for £20 2 weeks after launch.

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

It had a great campaign, short, but satisfying. It also had some fun Firefight maps.

Btw - polls on bungie.net mean absolutely nothing, so please don't use them to try and prove some kind of point.

This. It was a lotta fun for about a week, then I lost all interest.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I certainly liked it a lot. It had a different feel to the other games and I liked the story.
