Personally, mine is Contact Harvest. The power and ability of Spartans makes them tough to relate to. This early Johnson tale is an easy read and sets up the whole war nicely.

Btw - polls on bungie.net mean absolutely nothing, so please don't use them to try and prove some kind of point.

Reach is my favorite, and I had wanted them to make it into a game for a long time. I just wish they had stuck to Nylund's story as I found the whole thing much more compelling du to its focus on chief and his training. That was all the cool stuff I wanted in Reach. I wanted to play as MC as a kid in training. Especially that part in the book where they are dropped off with nothing but a map and told to be at certain location by a certain time. That would be awesome, but I get why it's not in the game, or why they chose not to focus on it.

Where is cryptum and evolutions?

  • 02.09.2011 4:06 AM PDT

Cryptum is my favorite, but you have failed to put it up there, also the presence of Halo evolutions seems to be absent.

Signatures are for squares.

Why does EVERYONE always seem to forget Evolutions, and now, Cryptum as well?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The only one I ever read was Fall of Reach, and I liked it. I read after Reach came out, so I decided Bungie was stupid for retconning the entire battle of Reach. The books' version was much better.

A library (Yes, those things still exist). If your library doesn't have one, ask them to get one. Chances are they will.

1) Halo Cryptum

2) First Strike (got good insight on the Chief's character)

3) Ghosts of Onyx

But I liked them all in there own way.

out of that list, cole protocol and first strike. Both are fantastic sci-fi novels, but i think i prefer first strike. For one it filled in the hole between halo CE and halo 2. It also showed the relationship between the chief and Sgt. Johnson. And it was also epic, and it introduced the brutes white well.
The Cole protocol was great too. It gave us insight on the Arbiter, and focused a lot on the Insurrectionist and civilian point of view.

So far, The Fall Of Reach is still the best halo novel out their. You get a great understanding of the Halo Canon with just that book.

Cryptum.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The Cole Protocol and Ghosts of Onyx were my favorites. The Fall of Reach is close up there, too.
