Halo is FICTIONAL, so even if it breaks canon. The events never actually happend.

If you don't plan on discussing the canonical parts of the Halo franchise, then you don't belong in this forum, as thats what it's about.

A lot of people obviously care about it, because this forum exists. If that bothers you, then don't come to this section.

Because now we can't analyze the events surrounding the canon breaks with any certainty over what we're talking about anymore. Halo's story is all about analyzing the details. Its fun, and it get's your brain going; challenges your intellect and all.

But now we can't do that as much anymore.

And if you don't care about the Halo canon, why are you here?

Banned and proud of it.

Did anyone click mah link XD

If new details are released, and your speculation was correct, cool.

If new details are released, and your speculation was wrong, then your speculation was wrong.

If new details are released, and they override old details that you had speculated on... well, if the stuff you're speculating on is to be tossed out randomly, the speculation is hopeless from the start and loses all its meaning.

Did anyone click mah link XD
Yes, and I would be inclined to fire it back at itself.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

We care because Halo is a great universe and one that we have immersed ourselves in a lot. We don't want to see it ruined because Bungie has to be a bunch of idiots.

I agree with you in spirit.

However, I would say that spending time on this forum reconstructing the canon anew is preferrable to both whinin' about it or being apathetic.

To add to this I will give reasons why people care.

A few people have written Fan Fictions and such about Halo and it's nice to have clear referance, rather that two different battles of the one planet, both resulting in the planet falling into Covenant hands.

Some people have, like me, absoluetly love Halo, not for gameplay(which is good anyway) but for the story that, until recently, made perfect sense and didn't contradict itself.

Personally, since Reach came out, I lost a good bit of intrest in the Halo series. It was the canon, the story that brought me back.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Oh debating the finer points of canon is fine, but when people feel the need to go on a -blam!- fit over hair color in a Halo anime special, that's when I think constructive criticism becomes senseless whining.

Agreed, there is a certin level you have to stop whining at, yet I somehow doubt anyone has ever whined about hair colour...

Well I do recall someone whining about the stripe on Micky's ODST helmet...
Still though, some small things are important too.

When it can easily be written off as artistic expression, it isn't.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The same reason people would watch a movie again, or read a book again. We enjoyed the story.
