DOA4 is in a lot of ways, a logical evolution of DOA3, but there's so much new stuff, it's hard to know where to begin.
The game sounds like it will be fun. I think any Halo side story would be kinda cool..
But the part i quoted is what gets me.
Now, i can't personally say the game is a "logical evolution of DOA3" but I'm just going by your word. Now, It's just a "logical evolution" which is awesome.. sticking to the basics, and just making the game "evolve" is a great way to go about things.. adding new things, instead of taking things that were previously good away.
You obviously think this is a good game, yet it is just a logically evolution of DOA3.
Now, to my point. Why couldn't Halo 2 be like that? Why couldn't Halo 2 be a logical evolution of Halo.. instead of a completley different game.
Please don't act as if Halo 2 and Halo 1 are the same, or even close. Sure, it has the same characters, with an extended story, but everything else didn't "evolve" they were just flat out changed.
grenades did not "evolve".. they actually devolved..
The strength that MC had to THROW grenades was changed..
The weapons are all different.. some weapons were actually taken out.. but the weapons left in were actually changed in their power and use.
The Weapon Respawn System that Halo 1 had was changed. The Weapon Respawn System Halo 2 has is a lot less balanced than Halo CE's..
-------
Please don't get me wrong.. i believe Halo 2 to be a good game.. but it is far from being a "logical" evolution of Halo CE..
I just wish bungie would take from team ninja's example.. and keep things basically the same.. but just upgrade things..
Bungie actually downgraded many things on Halo 2 just to make the game easier for rookies to come and kill somebody.
The grenade thing was actually for realism. If you toss a grenade, it won't really fly 30 feet. You need to put some force in it. Or in this case, angling. This change actually increased the required skill level to sucessfully throw a grenade. I do wish that Bungie would have kept the weapons, though I can't argue with what choices they made. As for the DOA game... HOLY CRAP! That level looks just like Cairo Station! And good job on Nicole's profile.
