Where are the Military bases?

I mean Its like when they were building defences they were like, "Hey guys! we forgot to make bases in Viery!"

"Nah, who cares about Viery, it has such boring scenery, that not even the Covies will use it."
You can't cover an entire planet. It would be a waste of resources, and require too much man power.

Seeing how the Viery territory had a low population and little resources, it would make sense militarily to put minimal defences there.

Then, While the main army advances, use Long Swords to fly fast, and low to destroy the Tyrant guns.
Right here's a flaw. Those Longswords would be picked off. Remember what happened in Halo 3?

With that flaw, your idea falls apart. Everybody woould be too far away from the outer ring of Tyrants, which means that they would not be able to reach and destroy them without taking heavy casualties from the Covie Ground Forces first.

Don't be stupid like I was! Check to see what that Forum Ninja is saying to you!

Yea, but that was one encounter.

That Long sword in Halo 3 was flying at the perfect angle.

I mean, eh, I guess it would be hard to pull away going at such High speeds.

That is assuming the AA guns have long range scanners and can pivot their vertical angles fast

Anyway. Here is my revised part. The frigates, behind cover, set up some of their artillery and use Noble team or satellites to target them. Then they use the rest of their Artillery later.

The longswords could get past. Not without losing a number though. I mean, heck they didn't even want to pull up the Grafton and Saratoga until those guns were destroyed.

While it made sense that the Longswords wait for the guns to be destroyed, the Frigates could of just carried on with their attack, and likely destroy the Tyrant guns themselves.

I also never saw why the Grafton:

A: Needed to have a point blank range shot, unless the Captain thought he was going to intimidate the other Covenant ( Which clearly backfired ).

B: Didn't just shot the Spire with the Shields activated. I doubt their no where near the strength of a Covenant Ship's shields, and even so, the MAC's of both Grafton and Saratoga would likely destroy it with relative ease.

Um, the Tyrant guns would have caused heavy damage to the frigates. Also, they had no idea how strong the shields were. Why waste MAC rounds with unknown results when you can have somebody shut off the shield.
