Simple question, do people still play them? Can I easily get into a game with more than a few players? And are they both compatible with the Xbox 360 controller for windows?

Halo 2 Vista has enough players to find a match and have fun in. Not enough where you can ALWAYS find a SWAT match, though. You'll be able to find a Snipers match though because h2v players love Snipers.

Halo PC and Custom Edition is filled with players/servers that you can join. In fact, I'm setting up a Dedicated Server in March.

Both games are compatible with the controller. Halo 2 Vista has the buttons already mapped out as soon as you plug it in, but, Halo PC doesn't. You'll have to map out the buttons. Also, Halo PC doesn't have auto-aim. It might be a bit harder for you to use a controller than it is on the Xbox. It still works about the same, but, it takes a bit more skill. You're honestly better off learning how to use keyboard/mouse. kb/m is the best hardware for First-Person Shooting anyways. It's already been proven in tests done by Microsoft in the betas for Cross-Platform gaming.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Halo CE is better, h2v is wannabe MLGs.

Actually, no, it's not anymore. In fact, most of the people I run into now have no clue what MLG even is. You haven't been on for a while now.

When people ask for help don't start with this bias crap that you've filled all of the forums with. Halo 2 is noobified, I agree with you, but, a help thread isn't the place to start spewing hate towards the game's communities. Either answer the person's questions, guide them to a place where they can find the answer, or don't bother posting. You're not helping anyone.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

No. But as bad as H2V is, it SHOULD be free.

OP if you're looking for an active community, go with HPC; It's got at least 5 times the player count of H2V at any given time. If you're looking for solid Halo gameplay on the PC, go with HPC; It's the most skill-based iteration of any Halo game so far, and it's ridiculously fun at the same time. If you're looking for a game with more bugs than working code, a control system that favors controllers over keyboard/mouse, two full servers max at any given time, and gameplay completely devoid of any skill whatsoever, go with H2V.

I'm sure there are illegal torrents. Otherwise, no, there's not.

Shoryuken!

Mythic Mode Progress on Reach:
Winter Contingency, perfection.
Other levels in progress.

To my knowledge, only the trial is free, unless you have connections or something.

I got it for Christmas a while back, I'd still play it, but I have to save up for a lap top. :/

No it's not. It's full of people that suck at games in general.

People saying HCE for PC taking skill. Lol
That's all I have to say.

Banshees, more banshees and even more banshees. That's all that game has ever been everytime I've played it online. Banshees take so much skill.

Banshees exist on Death Island, Blood Gulch, Infinity, Ice Fields, and Gephyrophobia. There are 19 maps on base Halo PC. Your reasoning for Halo PC not taking skill has failed.

Using a Sniper Rifle on Halo: Combat Evolved by its self is much harder than on any other Halo but then add the factor of having to lead your shots and it's tremendously harder than any other.

There are many servers in Halo: Combat Evolved PC that are set to either no vehicles or only warthogs. Those are the servers that take skill.

You can't "be" an MLG. You can be a professional, but not an MLG.

I know, that's how it was for me years ago. I started out on Halo PC using a controller. After a while, though, I started trying to use the kb/m. I was doing horrible for about 2 months. I would go off and on from kb/m to controller. Eventually I started getting better with the kb/m. I was getting a tremendously higher k/d spread each time I used the kb/m. That's when I sold my controller and kept with the kb/m.
