''Why you looking at me?''

did he rip it off a falcon and he said ''this will do''

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Bungie just decided they were going to kill everything a Spartan II is supposed to be and gave him the largest thing they could find.

I found it Awkward how everyone refers to him as the big man, when in reality, most Spartan II's are the same height as him, which makes me wonder why he didn't use a normal UNSC Weapon in some missions.

I think all of noble should have used their 'signiture' weapons for the first couple of missions, but then they should have given them more apropriate guns for the missions that they were on for the rest of the game.

That way, you can associate a certain gun with a charicter, but then have them think a little bit more tacticly, instead of kat running around with a pistol all the time.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Sigh, this bothered me. They HAD to give the largest Spartan the Largest gun. It's far too cliche to have a walking tank as a character.

I think it's kind of hinted that he was big, even for a SPARTAN-II. Something like "Jorge always was physically imposing" being written by Halsey in her Journal. She wouldn't say that if he was the same size as everyone else he grew up and trained around.

Anyway, why give him the big gun? Seems like a logical conclusion to give the "big man" the "big gun", but it makes every nerd fibre of myself scream. Why the hell would you bog a Spartan-II down with it anyway? They're known for being nimble despite their 7-foot size. Faster reflexes, stronger muscles... give Jorge an MA37 and take the damned canister off his chest and he'd be a forward-rollin', cover-takin', fast-sprintin' combat machine- not a slightly mobile (and very noisy) gun emplacement.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

Anyway, why give him the big gun?
Because having a strong base of fire is very useful in a military context. Your forward rolling machine will get shot. But if there is a forward rolling machine, supported by someone with a massive cannon which forces the enemy to stay in cover, then suddenly the fight is a lot easier.

It was a slightly rhetorical question, but thank you.

But still, as I was saying, he has so much more potential than a mobile gun emplacement. He could work stealth demolitions, for instance, and not only distract the enemy, but destroy them. Three men behind the enemy are worth more than 50 in front of them.
Dragging him down with the burden of covering fire seems like a misallocation of weaponry. Six can carry a turret, which means any other members of Noble Team can: logically, I'd give Emile the Turret, as his shotgun is near useless about 90% of the time that he's using it.
Hell, even switching Emile and Jorge's roles would make sense; Jorge's huge mass would be great for hand-to-hand and close quarters combat.

You forget that Six is far more awsome than Emile.
And I do not want to see Jorge with some stupid, useless shotgun. He should have rockets and a gernade launcher.

Ahh, but see, I never mentioned a shotgun.

The Assault Rifle, the standard weapon of the Spartans (and the UNSC in general..), was also a CQB weapon.

But yes, role reversal is a worst-case scenario, and Grenade Launcher/Rockets would be more applicable to Jorge's "Heavy Weapons" than his Machine Gun; they have more power, and allow him to move at full speed.
Plus, there's two of them!

If I may input, judging a character based on how the AI works is stupid, in a canon sense.

Also, bigger doesn't = better in terms of CQC or hand to hand combat. Oh sure he can pack a massive punch, but something smaller and more agile can avoid his blows.

Though, switching weapons wouldn't make sense in that context. Emile's roles were demolitions and CQC. Neither of which would use a turret. Jorge's was heavy fire support(I believe), which a turret fits.

I would assume that would be because his armor makes him seem larger.

yeah, but his reflexes are off the charts. If he had his punch lined up perfectly (Which most spartans do 99% of the time) the only thing that could doge him would be a skirmisher on crack.

He is several inches taller than master chief. The rest of noble team are about the same height as master chief.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Seriously, Jorge could've kicked way more ass than he did. He makes S-II's look bad.

Bungie decided to go against canon and completely re-do spartans to like colorful rainbows of death instead of Stealthy, Brutal, supersoldiers.
