Subject: Who is your favorite character from the halo series and why?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Rtas 'Vadum.

Simply, he is more open minded and intelligent and does not come off as a megalomaniacal egotist like most Sangheili.

Last Voyage was so awesome with him as the main character in it.

You were just waiting in the shadows for me to post here, weren't you? :P

Yeah. I could probably write an OP on the reasons why. Him b1tch slapping the San-Shyuum minster was amusing. I wonder if Rtas will ever be in later novels/games/whatever, but I get the impression he is just a side character; most likely to be forgotten under the tide of Master Chief wank rags. -_-

But of course. :L

I really hope he gets his own novel at some point. perhaps he'll be in Karen Traviss's post-GoO trilogy.

The Rookie, because he is just awesome.
He does what SPARTANS do without being a SPARTAN.

"Were it so easy"

Arbiter by far.

His own novel would be great. My only gripe is that if they screw him up, or flesh out his character in order to kill him off, which seems to happen quite a lot in Halo I notice, "Oh look, another Jorge scenario".

As for the Traviss novels, the following blog entry from her crushed those hopes.

"I can tell you that it'll feature new characters in a setting you haven't seen before."

Cortana 5 is a carbon-based lifeform that frequently visits these forums, currently residing in the United States. Practically every male on the site responds to her posts.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

Dustin Echoes.

If you got that joke, I applaud you. +7 internets.

Cortana is my favorite character. Can you tell?

"Scanning... just Dustin Echoes. We're all that's left."

Epicness, a friend of mine believed that Dustin Echoes was what Cortana said for about 6 years.

Cortana is my favorite character. Can you tell?

It certainly took a while work it out...

Rtas can't die, you've played Halo 2 right, Anton? he's invincible! ;)

But if he was super fleshed-out only to die, I'd hope he had an epic death. You know, not like Kit Fisto (my favourite SW character) who had this amazing backstory then got his head cut off by Palpatine after about 10 seconds.

I suppose. I am not entirely sure what I would find interesting in the story afterwards though. :/

Johnson because he survived the Halo explosion at the end of Halo 1 and the Legendary ending was epic.

Personally, I'd pick Gunnery Sgt. Buck, but if were talking in terms of character development, Arbiter wins. He's the most "unstereotypical" among the others. Although , in terms of epicness, Master Chief wins!

I wondered for the longest time how he survived after Halo: CE. Then I finally read First Strike.
