Subject: Replenishing of Sangheili Health - Natural, or Induced?

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

The Sangheili have long been known as potent warriors, but is it their very nature to heal as quickly as they do, despite the circumstances they're sometimes in? Or, perhaps the Covenant's been able to uncover some sort of device to be used in the armor they wear? Halo: Reach is one of the only examples we can see of this self-healing about them.

UWG Great group, you should check it out.

I'm a little confuse about what you're saying, but I think you're talking about their health going up? This is for gameplay, but their shields are there, because the Covenant found them.

Lol, Elites stole biofoam.

Given the damage that bullets can do, I'm going to say induced.

Gameplay.

I am going to go with this. There is no way they are going to regenerate entire organs in minutes when a sniper round tears through their body, even if it is induced.

I don't know if this has been said already (my page isn't loading properly,) but I believe their healing to be natural.

This ability has been seen in all 3 games the Sangheili have appeared in, and as far as we know they don't have anything similar to Medigel. Given their dislike of doctors, I find it unlikely that the Sangheili would approve of battle-field medicine.

In Halo: Reach, the only reason health-packs are needed for Spartans is that the Mark V MJOLNIR armor doesn't include automatic biofoam injectors, the biofoam supply has to be manually added to the injectors. While the Sangheili have a segmented health bar, their health has returned under optimal shield integrity since Halo 2, as have the Spartan's health in Halo 2 and 3 via automatic injectors.

Spartans never die... they just revert to last checkpoint.

Considering the Drop Shield's effects on damaged tissue I assume the armor has something similar. They believe their blood is their honor and they can't afford to lose it.

^This.

But to be fair, though, Elites would be pretty badass if they could naturally heal quickly like that.

I am a monument to all your sins

I believe that the elite's health improvement is induced. This is based on two facts.

1) The Forerunner's armor saw to most of their medical needs when it was properly functioning.

2) The Covenant technology is actually reverse engineered Forerunner tech.

If elite's armor is based off of a Forerunner's personal armor then it makes sense that their armor would have some version of the medical instruments in Forerunner armor.

No new games, catching up with the world, and filling it with the name of SpazDragon, the dragon with a spas-12.

Chuck Norris blessed them with a drop of sweat and blood.

Actually, I always thought of it as a natural thing. They are a warrior, honor bound species who probably fight every single day of their lives. They probably evolved from it due to so much combat.

If the Covenant found a way to make it happen, it would probably run along with the same technology used to extend the lifespans of the Sanshyuum(Prophets).

But I think the nature is it likely.

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

Elites have a healing factor just like Wolverine does.

Honestly, i believe it's gameplay design though i don't doubt that Elites could recover from wounds quickly (just not as instantaneous as in Reach).

Add to this existing technologies like Halo 3's Regenerator unit and the Drop Shield in Reach, both of which cause near instantaneous health regeneration, it makes the idea of their armour doing the job a strong possibility.

The thing that makes it certainly not natural for me is the fact that Jora in The Cole Protocol was shot in the leg, and then some time after the engagement was still dragging that bleeding, useless leg around. If it was natural, then it would have healed regardless. He either must have not had this technology, or it got damaged. There are other examples as well, such as Rtas' half jaw and Voro's navigation officer having a damaged eye.
