"Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain."

Bungie has indeed confirmed that while they cannot add new content to old maps, they could certainly add new content to new maps.

So yes, it would be possible to have elephants and even choppers on a sandtrap remake.

yes, it is just a matter of how muchn it will cost to add those new things in, and how long it will take.

but i think the statistics of the poll will show that it will be worth the extra effort for bungie to add in these things...

I love it!!!!! And if they'd increased the player count it be just that much better. This map would also be great for the falcon. Maybe for invasion when the attacking team is going up the beach towards the gate leading inside the structure there could be forerunner supper torrents. They'd be like the phantom ones just bigger, and more of a forerunner design. The bullets or what ever they are wouldn't move fast enough to be to much of a threat unless you stand still, elephants would be invincible to them, and they would add a great effect to the map.

throwning snowballs at cars is like doing a bell ditch. The end result is basically the same: sprinting away from the large man exiting his car who yells profanities, hiding behind a house, and watching as his car patrols the street, waiting to murder you.

Asking the flood for dating advice is like you going up to a bunch of starving Africans and debating the pros and cons of the bacon roll vs the double cheeseburger.

Some one who stands for nothing shall fall for everything.

Elephants.

I started a short thread with this exact idea a couple of months ago, but it never took off like this one. I personally had the idea of just one map for this DLC, and I dubbed it SANDSTORM for obvious reasons. Rather than everyone attacking the pit of the area, I had the idea of increasing the boundaries a little bit but opening up the inside of the Forerunner structures, as well as taking the Forerunner areas apart and giving us a strong Forerunner stone palette.

Opening up the area would allow for the first Tier of Invasion to take place in one of the structures, and then the remaining two Tiers take place in the full of the map with an Elephant (Just one for the Spartans, because the Elites would not be using an Elephant) and a Spectre (This is a smaller version of the Elephan but it is Covenant; Bungie could easily make it originally larger for the Elites to spawn in) as spawn points in Tiers 2 and 3. the Tier 2 could be territory control, and Tier 3 could be an Assault to one of 2 places (the plant time would have to be very long so that the planters would really have to have control of the area to destroy it).

And Bungie could reuse a couple of their Forge pieces from Sandbox as well as create a couple new ones to match the old Sandtrap. Armor Abilities would work perfectly on this map:

Jet Packs would be great for scaling the Forerunner buildings

Sprint would be helpful in racing to Vehicles or simply across the map

Armor Lock would be epic for destroying Vehicles

Active Camo would be awesome for Sniping from the peaks of the pits and taking down an Elephant

Drop Shield would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for setting up checkpoints in the open sand

Evade would be fun as always, especially when dodging vehicles

Sandtrap seems like it was built for Invasion, especially with the spawn places like the crashed Covie ship, UNSC station-like place, and the various Forerunner structures. Of course, Invasion-Sandstorm would have to have a longer time limit than the other Invasion maps, probably around 15 minutes with 4 minutes for Tier 1, 5 minutes for Tier 2, and 6 minutes for Tier 3.

Sandstorm would be the most amazing map. It would please H3 lovers, Heavy Forgers, Invasion-addicts, BTB junkies, and pretty much everyone else as well. Sandstorm would be amazing for BTB Snipers, BTB, Invasion, DEFINITELY Invasion Slayer, Race, Assault, and maybe even 8 vs. 8 Grifball on a large empty sandy pit.

Blacbastud, I applaud you for being able to get such a perfect idea to take off so well, and will definitely send you a present if such a map is ever implemented. I know I would pay a crap-load of MS Points to have this in H:R, but I know Bungie loves us enough to not rip us off for it.

Whats your next step after 750 votes, and 750 Replies?

1000 mark, baby.
after that point, bungie will start noticeing, because that number represents such a large amount of the community.

Unfortunately, thats not true, 1000 votes will represent about 1/800 of the people who play but in the end, considering the votes being in major vavour os yes, I'd say it's fair to assume that if spread more, the votes will stay similar. The main problem you get is that for some things a business will say:

Posted by: A random business
Well we have had this ...
so by using this we predict this ...

But then we get the likes of this. Bungie has stated that despite a lot of votes against Armour Lock, the figures are very little compared to the playing community. The truth is, when they want something they will predict that an outcome will happen due to what has already happened, when we want something, it's different.
