Subject: George LIVES!!!

Don't beg for things, do it yourself or else you won't get anything.

okay so hear me out. Since George was on the corvette when the slipspace drive went off he is technically being transported to an unknown area of the universe. So would't he and the other marines survive I mean they have a pelican and four sabres I would think they'd be able to haul it to the nearest planet.
just a though I had a 6:14am.
so Is it possible?!?!?!?
HAlo REach sequel!?!?!?
Halo Reach:Georges Revenge.

---Edit---
So what the hell happened to Jun?

I don't understand oral at all. I will never do that it is so nasty! And doing things in woods sounds scary.

The pelican has no thrusters.
Spartans have 90 minutes of air.
They can't reach the Sabers.

Even if he did survive the slipspace jump[highly unlikely], he would die pretty quickly.

Why would he die pretty quickly? It's not like he would be running out of air and food any time soon since he's inside the Corvette, a thing that's more advanced than an UNSC Frigate John is on at the moment (which is btw half destroyed).

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The slipspace drive was used as an improvised bomb. A normal slipspace drive would create the portal just past the bow of the ship, when Jorge detonated it the rupture came from within the Ardent Prayer.

The whole point of Operation: UPPERCUT was to destroy the LNoS by - as Kat put it - "sending half the ship to oblivion".

Contact Harvest has some very specific details about human slipspace drives not used for proper transitions. They produce massive amounts of radiation (Jorge had no helmet on, even if he did have it on he would have died).

Hypothetically, if he did somehow survive and go into slipspace, MJOLNIR only has 90 minutes of oxygen. Since it was a Shaw-Fujikawa drive they used, slipspace travel can take weeks to move from point A to point B.

Jorge is dead, the whole point of his character was to sacrifice himself for Reach, there is no purpose in him surviving.

  • 02.13.2011 5:46 AM PDT

I'm sure if 343 want to carry on the story of Jorge they will find a way to do it, until then and hoping that they don't become so desperate for ideas, he is dead.

  • 02.13.2011 5:49 AM PDT

Canonically, the EVA equipped troopers all died on board the Corvette.

The Pelican's thrusters and/or gimbals were toasted. The Sabres were likewise too badly damaged to attempt an exfiltration.

The makeshift "bomb" had to be activated manually as it too was damaged in the fighting.

It was hinted that although the slipspace rupture tore the mid-section out of the supercarrier, thereby detonating the other two halves which fell to Reach's surface, that midsection, along with the corvette contained within the docking/refuelling bay of the midsection could have been transported through slipspace to an unkown location otherwise intact - the only reason for the explosion in the supercarrier and the civilian ship previously mentioned was that the hull is ripped out of the ship in the area around the slipspace drive, transporting that area and the drive to "oblivion". If that were an undisclosed location or somewhere within the slipspace matrix, although civilians would not have survived and unshielded transition as their ship would also subsequently have the atmosphere removed, Jorge was inside a shielded suit of armor inside a shielded ship within a ship, or what is now a portion of that ship. Survival is possible.

Jorge-052 is MIA, all Spartans are listed MIA, never KIA. ONI propaganda, but it works.

Merely a figurative term to keep morale up, not literal at all.

  • 02.13.2011 9:22 AM PDT

Don't beg for things, do it yourself or else you won't get anything.

This is only to keep Moral up...The only true spartans that are MIA are John-117, the spartans in the shield world oynx, and Jorge.

(If I made a mistake feel free to correct, I'm positive I left someone out though.)

  • 02.13.2011 9:34 AM PDT

It could be literal, we don't know.

Slipspace drives always generate radiation. It's how the drives open the window into slipspace for the ships they're inside of that use them. The only thing that could have saved Jorge was if he found a way to safely exit slipspace. He could have starved on-board the corvette while drifting in slipspace. The radiation isn't an issue, the air supply isn't an issue.

The debris from the supercarrier's central trunk, combined with no control or exit vector, mean he could be a corpse still in slipspace. He could also have been shunted out somewhere; anywhere. But that doesn't guarantee survival. He'd still have to survive wherever he ended up. Slim chances, but he is a Spartan II.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

I like to think that Jorge survived. And as stated above, it's possible.

So first off: in order to enter slip space you need to the sphere it makes? or are you automatically transported?

(Remeber in HALO2 in New Mombassa when the Prophet Regret made his slip space jump that took the city with him. Those building didn't sudenly jump into the sphere, could have they been sucked in?)

And Second: You need to activate the slipspace drive to come out of it...or would Jorge simply turn it off or wait till it runs out of juice?

Last but not least: There was a whole crew of Jackels, Elites, and Grunts...not to mention their stores of food. I'm going to assume he'd be okay and if he does run out of covenant there are a small squad of marines that he could eat.

Jorge... He was smart, by putting a cookie in his mouth, it sustained him from the radiation and gave him oxygen.

Should we make Jorge the new Chuck Norris of 2552?
I think so...
When Jorge goes for a swim on REACH Jorge doesn't get wet the water gets Spartan Jorge-052.

He's inside a ship, and the drive doesn't explode. It does what it's designed to do, transport matter into slipspace. The radiation is what any engineer on a frigate during a jump would experience.

Possible, but extremely unlikely. And about Jun, he survived.

  • 02.13.2011 10:22 AM PDT

The Pelican's thrusters were toast.
There weren't any Marines left at the cutscene.
The slipspace bomb acts as a nuke.

Therefore, Jorge, the marines, and half of Long Night of Solace, is DEAD!!!!!!

  • 02.13.2011 10:26 AM PDT

The slipspace drive, in short, killed him due to A: radiation, or B: being ripped apart.

Why B? Simply put, the portal was a small sphere, then expanded outward. It started in the center of the Corvette. The hanger bay went in before the outer hull, which that only would rip the ship apart, causing heavy damage. Then there is the fact the drive could disengage and drop the pieces out of slipspace in the middle of a sun, planet, or other object. Or be in the middle of nowhere.

About the saber, he says when you finish up fighting "Six, the Savannah did a number on this ship, no way back up to the Sabers."
