Subject: So I'm a nerd, eh? (Moved here from the Reach forum)

Well, if actually paying attention to story, characters, timeline, and canon makes me a nerd, then I'm glad. I'd rather be a nerd over a meat-head who just runs around, gunning down people just to be "better". If you call me a fanboy, more points for me. God forbid that Bungie writes an interesting science fiction story, and someone out there happens to like it (Note, sarcasm)!

To say "It's just a game, get over it!" is the most idiotic thing, ever. That's like watching a movie just for the special effects, not caring about the storyline (Then again, AVATAR was just Pocahontas in space, so yeah).

So, if you call me a nerd, I'll take it as a compliment. Because I have learned how to appreciate a good story when I see one.

(Note: I know that Reach's story lacks, somewhat. That's okay in my opinion, though)

Delusions and Grandeur.

I don't understand why people think they are gaining something when they throw around insults on the Internet.

Like a wise forum-goer once said, the Internet is like the special Olympics; you can win something, but you'll still be a retard(I'm not pertaining this towards anyone with an actual disability, only towards the people who lack intelligence and don't have a disability).

We're all nerds for talking/going on a video game developer's forums.

Whether or not we fit into the "nerd" stereotype is a different matter.

Banhammer squadrons, you have a new target.

Being a nerd makes you awesome, other people are just jealous of you being smarter and liking it.

I wake up to find myself
After all these years
And where all the time has gone
Still seems so unclear

No one should get mad over pointing out a fact.

Yes, I'm a girl, stop asking.

Republic Commando fans look here.

"This is the way the world ends, not with a bang or whimper, but with zombies breaking down the back door."

Tis why I stopped visiting the Reach forum. Very, very few people know what they're talking about.

Nerds are very welcome in here, and you're not judged based on how much you know (too little or too much).

I've found a new home. Thank you!

So what if you're a nerd. I am too, and proud of it. I enjoy finding out more about the backgrounds and storylines of things I like, Halo included.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Yeah. I spent a lot of time in the Reach forum. When I came here it was like Heaven.

Getting into a games canon makes me feel like i've actually got my moneys worth. If i don't get weirdly into a game I feel like im missing out, hell I got so into Red Dead Redemption at one point I bought my self a cowboy hat.

EDIT: I also started to believe the Assassins creed story was plausible

"Was"?

Who says it isn't?

Seems that the Reach forum isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the house.

I wish that I could just set up shop here and forget about the other thread, but that would be rude to the guy that I'm having a discussion with right now.

Also, bump, I guess.

Best. Ship. Ever!

This is the only place where people will understand the reference "Seven hundred and sixty one armless and legless corpses float inconspicuously around the inside of hangar ninety six."

People who get this are automatically my friend lol

Posted by: PotomoNothing in nature ever follows a Gaussian curve. Sure, they'll tell you it does. They say that every five minutes someone dies in a car crash, but how often are there seven hundred and sixty one armless, legless corpses in one hangar?

@ OP: Welcome to the other end of the spectrum. I hope the particular blend of stupidity found in this forum will suit you better.
